Traveled to Seattle for a wedding. Friends took us to the Naches Peak Loop. For me, was the best scenery of the whole trip (Seattle, Yakima, Portland). Gorgeous fall color on the huckleberry bushes (red), green pines, blue skies, reflective lakes, and Mt. Rainier. We...More

There is a large parking area with an outhouse, and folks also park on the street going to Chinook Pass. Beautiful Lake Loop, you even get to see "thru-hikers" doing the PCT.

Stunning walk. We did it with our 3 small daughters ages 10, 6, and 3. They were totally fine but they like to hike so YMMV. We were unprepared for mosquitoes (went mid-July) since the snow-melt causes lots of standing water and unusually warm weather...More

There is a nice walking trail around the lake. There were wildflowers and a view of Mt. Rainier. Park volunteers were available to answer questions. There were mountain goats across the road near the top of the mountain.

This hike has been described as the quintessential wildflower hike for Mount Rainier. We recommend hiking in a clockwise direction. The wildflowers were beautiful and the views were great.
