Lots of beautiful photo ops and a calm drive south along Hood Canal. Sure beats I-5! We were traveling from the San Juan Straits to visit family and then onto SEA-TAC.

We drove up the 101 from Shelton to Port Townsend and Sequim. The drive is mostly done on a narrow, 2-lane highway, and traffic is generally light. There are scenic sites galore, including multiple sections where the highway parallels Hood Canal closely, giving you great...More

This is a great area to visit, fish, clam, crab and visit. Views of the Olympics are fantastic, especially when there's snow! Oysters are also wonderful!

It is an amazing place to go camping, hiking, boating, and just for a drive. You sometimes take it for granted when you live on it.

Since the Olympic National Park is so large, there are so many aprproaches, entry and ranger stations. They were very helpful at the ranger station at Hood Canal. The vistas are lovely and the trails pretty easy.
