We went here and did both the south side then the north side then went all the way around the lake. Saw lots of great stuff including Deer and lots of elk. Just a warning it rains in a rain forest, so go prepared with boots and a rain jacket. Even when it stops raining water drips from the moss... More

The Quinault Rain Forest is an environmental adventure that must be seen in person to really appreciate. Long moss hangs from huge trees, trails snake through the forest, waterfalls tumble down sides of hills, and Lake Quinault sparkles when the sun is out...after all it is a rain forest. This is my second visit to the Quinault Rain Forest and... More

Check out both shores! On the north shore (Olympic NP) we did the Maple Glade Loop. A short but beautiful walk through the rainforest. Especially around the little stream it is very nice. Nice hike on the south shore (Olympic NF) is the Falls Creek Loop Trail. You walk between giant trees and you can see the Cascade Falls

Beautiful area. The temperate rain forest is just gorgeous. Nice trails in the area of varying difficulty.

We walked a half-mile nature trail in the rain forest. There were rushing streams and lots of BIG trees. It was very lush with lots of ferns. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the forest. It was an well maintained path that was easy to walk.

I never get tired of visiting Quinault Lake the rain forest and the lodge. There are several great hikes and the views of the lake are amazing.

It rained the entire time we were in Quinault! But we did venture out to the rain forest. The first time we had seen the large trees, moss laden, dripping and looking like something from a horror film. We drove the trail around the lake where we saw a few waterfalls. The trail was narrow and one way in many places.... More

The forest ranger stations are closed in October, but it is worth finding a map and venturing forth. I hit four trail heads and my favorite by far was the Grove of Maples. Giant leaves drift down from moss encrusted giant trees in the most beautiful, peaceful way.

As with our visit to the Hoh we visited during a heatwave so didn't get the full authentic rainforest experience. It isn't as well visited as the Hoh and in some ways makes for a better place to look around. The hiking around here was fascinating and my daughters were taken with the farmstead that we encountered halfway around, A... More
