This is a nice stop. It's a nice relaxing walk around the lake with nice views. There are other trails that go out from here if you want a real hike.

We went during the first snow fall of the year and the views were absolutely spectacular! I would even consider this a hike if you park at the Bear Lake parking lot. It was a simple walk even in the foot of snow. The lake...More

Bear Lake was fun, short hike! Plenty of Nature, and birds, and chipmunks and squirrels. Absolutely beautiful vistas!

Nice even walk way all the way around the lake. I would suggest either getting there early or take the free shuttle. Parking is limited.

The most beautiful walk! We went with our two kids and loved it. Only downside was the crowd, so we took the shuttle. Best idea ever! You can enjoy the views and the kids will love the bus ride. I am giving it 4 stars...More

This is a place where you can walk hand in hand with your kids! Its a nice stroll around the lake. There are ample places to make you want to stop and take pictures.

This is a great way to experience RMNP. The drive to the lake is very scenic even if you have to take the shuttle from the park and ride lot. The trail is rather level and has many spots to get photos and just take...More

Don’t get me wrong the lake is beautiful and the short trail surrounding is offers beautiful views from different angles. But there are places at least as beautiful in RMNP less crowded and much nicer views

Depending on when you plan to visit, the closest campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park are Glacier Basin and Moraine Park. Aspenglen would be another option in RMNP. Do a Google Search for RMNP campgrounds and you... More

In case another person sees this, the trail around Bear Lake had about 60 inches of snow on the ground on March 16. That amount of accumulated snow is normal in winter and early spring. Sneakers are NOT adequate because... More
