What a view! How can you describe something to beautiful! The clouds kept covering up the tops of the mountains but it just added to the beauty. Trail ridge road was closed so that was as far as we could go, and the snow was over our heads up against the mountain so that was a cool picture. There are... More

If you are on Trail Ridge Road and want to stop and take some picks of the wonderful drive of the canyon you see from your car, you can stop here and do just that. Otherwise, the views are almost the same along the drive if you just want to take photos with your car window down. The little walk... More

This is one of the must stops along the road in RMNP. Wide, scenic views of the mountains go for miles and miles around in all directions. It can get crowded, but its worth it to stop and just take everything in that there is here!

The trail ridge road has got multiple beautiful stops. I would highly recommend stopping at this spot because it gives a very wide angle view of the park. Must must get out the car and walk here.

A challenging ride if you're height sensitive. We went to the top of Trail Ridge, so this may be the down trail on the other side of RMNP. We passed the Alpine Center. My husband drove and did a fine job, but I couldn't look in some areas due to the cliff-type edge we were driving. Have a good, well-serviced... More

It really is impressive being up so high and seeing the awesome mountain scenery . This was one of our favorite stops . Just beware for us sea level people , the air is quite thin . We took our time and walked slowly , just soaking in the view . From the viewpoint we could hear a pika or... More

You cannot simply stop in the parking lot to take in this view. Walk to the overlook especially when it's not crowded (yeah, I know) and enjoy the quiet and the marmots as well as the view of the forested canyon. It's always more impressive when the big clouds are moving in. If you could visit only one overlook, this... More

Just a short walk out to the overlook and you get a great view of the valley below. Full of trees, small lakes and just a spectacular feeling of a work of art. You are pretty high up so altitude sickness could become an issue so catch your breath and take your time. The views are simply amazing.

Every summer when we travel to RMNP we drive up to the Alpine Center and stop at all the pullouts along the way. Our favorite stop is the Forest Canyon Overlook. It is an awe inspiring place and looks like a painting. Here, if you're lucky, you can hear the marmots sounding their warnings and watch them scurrying among the... More

I had the privilege of parking my truck @ Rainbow Curve and biking up the road which was closed off to motorized traffic ~ made it to the Forest Canyon Overlook before I saw in the distance two crews clearing the road for the Trail Ridge Road opening on May 27, 2016. Incredible experience as no one else was up... More
