Hume lake is a private Christian camp crawling with kids by the thousands during the summer. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the camp provides kayak and canoe rentals for $20/hour if you’re willing to deal with loud kids running and swimming all over the...More

I hadn't visited this lake in many years and I was shocked to see the crowds of people at was once a quite and peaceful lake. If you are looking for peace and quite, this is not the place.

Hume Lake is very serene and peaceful. It is a Christian camping area for kids. There were a couple of men fishing in this beautiful mountain lake. We sat on a bench overlooking the lake and enjoyed lunch. It was a bit cool and breezy.

The lake is the site of a Christian retreat center, but it also has a pleasant hike around the lake free of Christian theory, with a little logging history, and many nice views.

After a hair raising drive in the ice and snow we arrived at this pretty location. Very peaceful , it was very cold so we had a good walk around the lake to keep us warm.

Hume lake is not only beautiful, but it has EVERYTHING. It has lodging, gas station, convenience store, restaurants and coffee shops. You can get on wifi for free too. Definitely worth a visit, even if just half a day.

Hume Lake is a picturesque reservoir with beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background. We took a short hike along the trail, but did not go all the way around the lake. Some wildlife enhanced the experience. There is a Christian camp...More

The storage space includes a metal lock box that is large enough for up to 3 standard size iced chests. No power, refrigerator or shower facilities. Toilets and water spigots are all that you will find.
