One of the hardest things I've ever accomplished! Once you get past the first mile or so the crowds thin way down, and it's just you in a long canyon hallway! Absolutely an incredible experience. Try to make it to the turn around point, it'll take all day, but the rewards are worth it.

This spot, right off the riverwalk at the end of the Zion shuttle bus ride, was lovely as I approached it near sunlight. The walk was closed because of high water, but I can imagine that it must be a stunning walk.

Went early (in park by 8am). the walk is easy, lots of see, take your camera it will be clicking constantly. The Narrows was closed due to the fast flowing water but one can see where to go next time when the water is down.

Wear fast drying clothes, like polyester sportswear, inc underwear, because you will literally be walking the river. Obtain a good walking pole before the trek to aid you're balance and to test the depth as you walk. Beware the rangers will close the walk if rain has swollen the river too much. Most people just walk the first stage between... More

The best great view and hike. Make sure that if you are going to hike into the Narrows to go into Town and get the rented I say Required Foot Gear. Its well worth the Extra $$ to Hike The Narrows.

Was a bit worried after reading all about the deaths in the narrows. Did not get any less worried while doing it (you can see that there would be nowhere to escape to water came your way). It was heaps of fun though...we did it in the winter and there were barely any people doing it. We started at around... More

What an awesome hiking experience! I went in the beginning fo summer where there was little chance of flash floods. It was amazing as the area above the narrows was easily in the 90s...sweltering. And the waters was so cold and refreshing that it took just a few minutes to acclimate. Maybe it took more because the constrast was so... More

My family and I had a ton of fun hiking part of the Narrows in August thanks to two important decisions: 1) Starting early enough to beat the crowds - We started out around 8am and there weren't too many other people in the river. The scenery is out of this world and it was great to be able to... More

We went to Zion in late June 2016 and we were glad we scheduled 3 days there as 1 day was closed for the Narrows due to flash flooding. So worth waiting for! Make sure to rent the shoes and poles from the local outfitters and dress in layers because of temp changes.

This is the best hike in the park, but plan in advance. Good water shoes are a must - you will be walking through the canyon water most of the way. The views are stunning, and the walking is not super strenuous, but you need to plan to be wet, so don't expect to have a good time wading the... More
