We almost didn't go this route, since we weren't sure whether it was part of Zion. We're so glad we took a chance and drove there anyway! The scenery is stunning, even on a cold and rainy day. It seems like every corner produces new views. We'll definitely be back again and again!

This place is incredible from the moment you enter the park! The enormous mountains as you enter are just breathtaking and leave you in awe as you look all around you. Once you go through the tunnel and you see a few "teaser" Windows, it does not prepare you for the grandiose scenery you are about to encounter. We came... More

This road gets you to the Canyon Overlook Trail, and the highway is an adventure in itself! Cut through the side of a sheer, giant mountain face, it's an engineering tunnel marvel. Be sure and hike the Canyon Overlook Trail so you can look across the valley and see just where you drove.

Zion-Mount Carmel Highway is the shortest, the most scenic, and the most crowded highway we have driven. With switchbacks, slickrock, and stunning views, the highway has numerous spots where you can pull off the road for photos, a short hike, or half day exploration. We had entered Zion-Mount Carmel Highway from the west as well as from the east. No... More

Take time to do this drive when visiting Zion. Not the main attraction but well worth the time to see the other side of the park and amazing scenery.

The Zion – Mount Carmel Highway is a 25 mi long road in Utah in the USA, with a 1.1 mile long tunnel. The road runs from the entrance to Zion eastward to Mount Carmel Junction with US 89. Road was constructed by 1930 and it was a great feat of engineering, in my imagination some what like building the... More

Took this route from Springdale on route to Bryce. Beautiful scenery both before and after the tunnel. As you leave the tunnel there is a small carpark immediately on your right, park up and cross the road for a great hike and big horned goats.

I consider this drive a must see in Zion. Beautiful all around. Scenery before the tunnel and after the tunnel are different - unique and beautiful. We drove from Zion to Bryce and this part of the drive was magnificent.

We turned onto this drive by mistake but it was gorgeous. We drove through the loooooonnngggg tunnel and came back into the canyon. The views were different from the ones on the floor of the canyon but were very gorgeous..
