I would skip this hike if time is short. It simply doesn't compare with the hikes in the main canyon in Zion. During the hike you cross a shallow creek something like twenty times. The views are nice, but it's nothing super special. Your goal at the end of the trail is a alcove arch. There are lots of cool... More

After spending a few days in the main canyon of Zion, we were looking for something different and had read that the Taylor Creek hike was less busy and not extremely difficult. The drive takes about 45 minutes from Springdale. Stop in the Visitor's Center and your park pass will get you into this part of the park. The trail... More

The trail alongside the middle fork of Taylor Creek starts about 2 miles up the road from the visitor center. It's maybe a 3-3 1/2 hours there and back. The trail ends up at a spectacular double arch alcove. Really dramatic! So it's worth the trek. The trail follows the middle fork all the way. If there's evidence of significant... More

As a Brit I love US national parks - but some of them are becoming a victim of their own success. Angel's Landing is a good example - brilliant hike, but at peak times, almost too busy to be enjoyable - of course that's just my opinion. Taylors creek is an easy to moderate hike. Excellent views along the way... More

Took a hike up the Taylor Creek trial during mid August. Down in the valley temperatures were in the 100's. The trail was not busy. We hiked clear to the top. The trail was easy to follow. I'm not in great shape but was still able to make the trip in 3 1/2 hours. The elevation gain is manageable. The... More

Early in the morning we had the trail to ourselves. Gorgeous views and its shaded most of the way so that helped with the July heat. The Double Arches at the trail head is worth the trek. You cross the creek over 50 times. Bring bug spray for some flies. Best part of Zion if your not into crowds.

My two teenage boys and I went in late June to enjoy a hike away from the masses of people in Zion Canyon. There were more people on the trail than I expected, including a group of 'visitors' who evidently found its way here from Springdale. I, hoping for a peaceful outing, could have done without the loud chatter they... More

I wanted to get out and hike, but I also wanted to avoid the crowds of Zion since it was the weekend. This was the perfect trail. And if you go before 10:00 am, you'll see the sun as it is inching it's way over the top of the rock formations. Absolutely breath taking! You will also enjoy the sounds... More

This was our first hike in Zion and one of the most enjoyable ones. Taylor Creek trail is an easy hike along the small stream, sometimes crossing the stream. It was scenic, easy, with very few people on the trail and leading to an incredible Double Arch Alcove. From here you walk back on the same path. The whole hike... More

We picked this hike after I accidentally made myself super sick from dehydration the day before because this hike is on the easy side. While it was not strenuous, it was amazing and way more awesome than we expected it to be. If I had to recommend one hike in Zion, it would be this one. The scenery was stunning,... More
