Planned to do Angel but on local advice we chose to hike to Observation Point and it was Magnificent. Challenging so bring plenty of water (and a snack top enjoy at the top) and savor the victory.

This hike is around 8 miles RT and beautiful, exhilarating, exhausting, and amazing. The scenery is amazing but the switchbacks felt like they would never end. Being a little fearful of heights I almost felt like giving up because of the switchbacks and the ledge....More

My son and I set out for Observation Point on Jan 18 from Weeping Rock on the East Rim Trail. About 1 mile up, there was a huge rock slide that must've happened overnight. We tried to climb around it but it was very unstable...More

Last July (2018) my wife & I traveled to Zion. Never been before. Researched several day hikes. Observation Point was the shortest and offered spectacular views from the top! We also hiked Angels Landing (Note to Self) "THIS" is no easy hike... Again, beautiful, amazing...More

We did all hikes (that were open) at Zion, and this was our absolute favorite! While it is one of the tougher hikes, the change of terrain and scenery along the path is fun, and the view is breathtaking! Well worth it. I would recommend...More

Awesome hike. We did this originally because Angel's Landing was closed and we wanted to do a long hike .We did not regret it! In fact, I would recommend doing over Angel's Landing with you have the choice. You climb higher so the views are...More

The hike is reasonably strenuous and most of the trail is paved. The views along the way are pretty but the truly rewarding view comes at the end where you get a panoramic view of the valley.

We did this as our first hike of a week-long trip. Despite the elevation gain of about 2200 feet and duration (8 miles round trip) this turned out to be an excellent first hike. The trail is well maintained and remarkably mostly paved which makes...More

The hike is challenging but so doable and worth it. I don’t work out or hike regularly and I was able to finish the hike within 4.5 hours. The first mile is pretty difficult and steep with quite a few switchbacks. The second mile is...More

Hard to express the beauty of the walk to Observation Point. Although a challenging walk at times, the journey was worth it! Highly recommended!

I think what you see is very similar. From observation point you are higher and looking right at Angels landing. So, from Angels Landing you have an unobstructed view to the south and you are on a pinnacle so that's a big... More
