Great rotating selection of real ales. New landlords are really friendly. Fairly new beer garden is lovely for the long summer evenings. Lovely historic building.

Beautiful old building, full character. Plenty to choose from the multiple ales they have on tap. New Landlords seem to be making a real go of it, first time ale trail which saw lots of people having a brilliant time. Staff stepped up and nobody was left hanging around waiting on drinks. Excellent prices on the ales and the wine we had. Worth a visit.

Not the oldest pub in Shropshire.and judging by the expression on the face of the Landlord not the friendliest. Also very eratic opening hours.Limited selection of real ales, definitely worth a miss.

A really old pub selling some great real ales. A drinkers pub really with some friendly locals. A bit run down inside as was the outside drinking area. Worth a visit if in the area for a good pint but maybe not for a night out with the "better half".

A very friendly, but dated, pub. The beer was excellent, especially the Salopian Gold. Bar staff friendly and welcoming.

Well worth a visit for the warm welcome and the great cask ale choice. Obviously a well liked, well looked after locals pub. We all wish for a local like this!

A basic no frills no food no piped music boozer, full of character- and characters and all welcoming. Situated on a quaint side street in the town centre.
Called in at 5pm after a 3 miles walk along the picturesque canal towpath.
Choice of three pale hoppy bitters, two from Salopian and a Welsh Pale from the Big Hand micro.
Often, teatime real ales can be too warm or hazy because of day time inactivity but these were cool, clear and just £3 a pint. Raise a pint to this busy local's future prosperity!

Had a narrowboat holiday and popped in here on the off chance. There happened to be a groups of musicians practising and they were a merry group.
I would describe it as very down to earth but friendly. As a visiting Welshman I could have had some funny looks lol but I enjoyed it immensely.

I thought the days of the traditional pub were gone but what a delight to find this little gem only a minutes walk from where we were staying on holiday, friendly people and dogs are made very welcome and as they do not serve meals there wasnt a kid in sight, just adults enjoying a drink and chatting and laughing. This was also the only place in town to sell decent cider on tap, they had thatchers and stowford, didn't try the real ales but they seemed popular. As it is a very small pub there is only one bar staff on but if you cant see anyone there is a bell at the bar just inside the room on the right, you can sit outside the back as well.Decor is dated and facities basic but it is very clean. A nice pub in a nice town.
