Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited this pub whilst staying air bnb in the area. Really welcoming, beautiful area in Shropshire. Very good selection of local ales and spirits. Great facilities inside and a traditional bar and snug. Great with our two dogs as well. Outside beer garden really nice. That enjoyed we returned most nights whilst we were in the town for the week. Friendly staff and even provided us with ideas of places to visit locally in the area .

Great rotating selection of real ales. New landlords are really friendly. Fairly new beer garden is lovely for the long summer evenings. Lovely historic building.

Great to find a proper pub. Called in for a drink, made to feel really welcome by the lady behind the bar. We both had cider, really cold and well kept.
A cracking pub for a few drinks.

Staying in Ellesmere overnight and stumbled on the White Hart. Must have been fate that brought us here because there is a beer festival on and all of the four real ales that we have tried so far are excellent and in great condition.

On arrival waited at the bar for 5 minutes with nobody in sight, eventually found a man hidden in an alcove behind the bar reading his paper. After I gained his attention he did serve me with I must say a good pint, but with the minimum of contact. Place was clean and had a good fire but few punters on my visit. Everyone was given the same welcome and even a local who walked in after he had gained the server's attention got his pint with hardly a word being spoken before the bar person returned to his daily. Two walkers received the same welcome and after a plastic cup of nuts served from a bottle, one more pint I decided to move on and find somebody to talk to.

No TV, sports, food or jukebox. Just good old fashioned conversation and great beer! And if you drop lucky you will stumble on one of the beer festivals...a weekend of tasting plus live music and BBQ. Next one is weekend of 12th September 2015. See you there!

a beautiful pub run by a nice landlord Christopher Harrison. No food served here just plenty of real ales at a great price. Really enjoyed the Shropshire Gold. A locals pub who are all friendly. Beware only opens at 1pm at weekends and 3pm in the week. Well worth a visit if you like real ale.

The oldest pub in Shropshire and what a true pub is all about. Add a huge variety of ales from independent breweries on tap it's the perfect place to drink. They do not offer food just the occassional pork pie which is fantastic. They also run beer festivals throughout the year which are the perfect opportunity to try even more individual unique breweries. A great experience, enjoy.
