- chris sSt Ives, United Kingdom15 contributionsHidden gem that's truly amazing. This pub is an absolute gem. It's a proper old school pub. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The beer was excellent with some old favourites and guest beers that were genuinely epic. This was the first pub we visited on our holiday and they've set a very high bar.Visited July 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 10 July 2023
- Will34 contributionsWhite Heart EllesmereVisited this pub whilst staying air bnb in the area. Really welcoming, beautiful area in Shropshire. Very good selection of local ales and spirits. Great facilities inside and a traditional bar and snug. Great with our two dogs as well. Outside beer garden really nice. That enjoyed we returned most nights whilst we were in the town for the week. Friendly staff and even provided us with ideas of places to visit locally in the area .Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 August 2023

Definitely a traditional pub for one who appreciates real ale, real music and real atmosphere. This is the place for conversation and quiet enjoyment.

Waited at the bar for ages and the barmaid kept serving the locals ahead of us even though they were behind us in the queue.

Beautiful old building, full character. Plenty to choose from the multiple ales they have on tap. New Landlords seem to be making a real go of it, first time ale trail which saw lots of people having a brilliant time. Staff stepped up and nobody was left hanging around waiting on drinks. Excellent prices on the ales and the wine we had. Worth a visit.

Not the oldest pub in Shropshire.and judging by the expression on the face of the Landlord not the friendliest. Also very eratic opening hours.Limited selection of real ales, definitely worth a miss.
