I went on a sunny day around sunset, lovely view from there and a good place to watch the sunsetVisited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 29 October 2023
- 355denisesMonroe Center, Illinois38 contributionsMust see when in MaltaTook a 25 minute Uber drive to see Dingli cliffs Definitely worth it The views are amazing and the history of the area interesting Beautiful walk along the cliffs. We stopped at Bobbyland for lunch. Definitely recommend that for the food, atmosphere and backstory of its origin It was nice to get out of the city bustle of the st Julian and Valletta areas and explore natureVisited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 1 January 2024

I am writing this review as I’m sitting on a bench next to St Madeleine’s Church, waiting for the bus out of boredom as there is absolutely nothing else to do. If you have rented a car, you can go there and stop by for 5-10 minutes, but if you have to take a 1 hour bus and then wait here for another hour and then go back for another hour, don’t do it. Watch a movie, do some origami or stare at your phone. Also, the communication is kind of horrible. Also, don’t go to St Julian’s, you’ll regret it I swear.

A must for anyone on the Island wanting to view an incredible sunset. To be extra adventurous why not stay from sunset onwards to do some stargazing as well as it’s a great location to catch some stars! Highly recommend.
Tip: The walk from Dingli cliffs viewpoint to a restaurant called Bobbyland provides the best stargazing route. The road is called Triq Panoramika providing minimal light pollution. Carry a torch.

Came by public bus & got off at the Panarama stop. Pleasant slightly distant views of the cliffs. Can walk to the Clapham Junction Cart Ruts in about 20 minutes when you've had your fill of the cliffs.
Come in good weather as the area is very exposed.

We were bit disappointed – we got there by public transport and walked few kilometres along the shore. Yes, the cliffs look nice, however we were bit disappointed with lack of clear views. Seems to me that the best way to appreciate it is a sea cruise along the southern coast of Malta.

I went to the Dingli Cliffs on a very hot July morning. I took a bus from Rabat to the Maddelena stop at Dingli. I was one of the only tourists out and about that morning. I sat on a shady bench by the church and gazed at the vista. I walked from the church past the radio receptor. I was disappointed that the Cliffs restaurant was not open for breakfast, but there was a snack/gift truck back at the church. I got a prickly pear juice, which was refreshing after the heat.
From Dingli, I walked to the Clapham Junction cart ruts and caves. This was a little crazy to do on such a hot day. I think every other tourist on the island went to the beach. Walking this route in the spring or fall would be very enjoyable.
The cliffs are stunning, but if you're not on this part of the island, I wouldn't go out of your way just to stop at Dingli. Incorporate it as part of a route for the day, especially if you are renting a car.

We visited the cliffs on a Sunday, 29th of January, at 10.00 in the morning. We stayed at a hotel in Valletta, and took an Uber, a 30 minute trip, to the cliffs. We were dropped off by the Radar Tower, which turned out to be a 20min walk away from the actual trail. Looking at the tower, we walked along the road to the left, until we saw a trail going down towards the water. There are many paths along the road, which were tempting to take, but these were all private properties!
Once we got to the right trail, we walked 5-7 minutes downwards to find the perfect view. Absolutely worth the hike!
Took an Uber back home, who picked us up right where we started the right trail. We’ve have a great experience with Uber in Malta- very reliable and super efficient!

Stay on the road Triq Panoramika, do not follow anything googlemaps might suggest. By the side of the road you will pass a parking loop off the road. From here it is 400 metres to the start of the walk from the road to the cliff high point view. Actually there is space for 3 or 4 cars at the walk start point if it's not busy which it wasn't for us. 400 metres walk over uneven ground brings you to a good view. I wasn't particularly impressed, in Wales our coastline is dotted with many coves between cliffs.

Not really worth the effort. Nothing much to see. If you are around mdina, you could visit it for a quick walk but is nothing too worth the effort. Anyone that has visited islands in other countries will definitelt not be amused. The photos are definitelt better than it looks.

Filthiest place I saw in Malta. From the moment you get down of the bus, all you see is garbage.
There is not a marked trail or path, just follow the garbage. Also, there are trucks and buses passing next to you all the time.
Disgusting.

Hi. We are travelling to Malta on 16 November 2023. I want to know how long it takes to walk from the parking at Dingli Cliffs to Bobbyland restaurant? If you watch the sunset from here, how long do you have to wait for the stars to come out? I got this idea from a review by user Laskar. Thank you for any responses
