    A Must Play!
A must play golf course! The hole-to-hole layout is challenging, and the course condition was amazing. The views are stunning as well. As for improvements, the condition of the driving range doesn’t match the standard of the golf course. The short game area and putting green were in tour shape. The staff could’ve been more helpful and friendly. I found food options to be limited. If you’re trying to maintain a healthy diet, you’ll find your selections to be limited. Overall, this is a must play golf course on your trip to Scotland.

What a fantastic estate, try it you won’t be disappointed
We are not golfers but this place is a lovely place to have a special night. You just feel special checking in to the House and the having a drink in the whiskey room. The bedroom we had was fabulous and probably not the best on site. Limo service down to the dune’s restaurant and bar fabulous meal excellent service and a limo back. The grounds are outstanding as are the beaches so wander and enjoy. Definitely planning on other Donald locations the man has style.

    Breathtakingly beautiful
I am still buzzing after playing this spectacular course. HUGE shout out to Steven Wilson and his team for the fantastic work they do. Everything is absolutely spot on. From our arrival right through to departing two days later we were looked after like royalty - everyone (Pro Shop, Restaurant, starter, staff in Macleod House) was so friendly, forthcoming, competent and uncomplicated. This course is a must if you love golf and beautiful scenery. It’s right up there. My favourite up til now was Cape Kidnappers - might have to shake up my list….

Played as a 4 ball on this magnificent links, this course truly is a fine test of golf, if your a wayward driver of the ball then you are in for a lot of problems and lost balls! The course was in amazing condition, the greens were top notch, i have played a lot of golf around the world, and this course is up there with the best I've ever played, from arrival we were treated very well, all clubhouse staff were very friendly and helpful, the fish and chips were outstanding.

(Golf only) Wonderful views and location. The welcome is good, the range area is good and the ambience of the place is first class.

The course is not playing as a links course should imo. Overwatered and therefore too soft in general. Each hole is beautifully designed and the views from the tees are breathtaking - I just wish they would let the fairways develop in more of a links style…

We played the Trump International Scotland course during a 12 Links course trip through Scotland. I’d played 5 years before on a clear day. We had rain, with 25-40 mph winds from the south, south east, shifting to SSW. It was brutal. 1-4 were dead into the teeth of the wind and incredibly unforgiving, as this is an Americanized course, not a true Links course. Sad. It’s incredible property, but has been turned into an elevated greens, non-run-up, parkland layout. Incredible views. Silly with two drive-able par fours on the front. Number 10 is a poorly designed par 5. It’s expensive. While a beautiful attempt at top-end golf, it seems out of place. Two rounds for me is enough. Try it (if you can afford it). See what you think.

We arrived early for our much anticipated round of golf but were told that our tee time would be delayed some 25 minutes due to a large group arriving late. We were initially told we would be a two ball but shortly before teeing off were told we were to be paired up with another couple, one a member and one a guest. We were fine with that.

However as we teed off and walked up the first fairway the guest lit up her first cigarette, without giving us the courtesy of asking if we were OK with her smoking whilst we played. As it turned out she chain smoked the whole way around the course, which we found very unpleasant and disturbing as we are non smokers. Additionally, this woman disposed her used butts indiscriminately around the course with no respect for the environment or fellow players. 🤢🤢

Pace of play was also an issue, the first nine a 2 ball with caddies were ahead of us but held us up on numerous tees. They disappeared after nine holes but were replaced by a four ball, out of the blue, who were also very slow. On just about every hole and shot we had to wait many minutes, which upset any rhythm or tempo to the game.

Not once did we see a course marshall out on the course managing the pace of play for the field. In the end it took us more than five hours to get around the course, way too long to fully enjoy the course.

The course itself was simply wonderful, but we really didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy it fully with the issues mentioned here.

Dear Mr Allchin, Thank you for your feedback which is greatly appreciated. Please be assured that we strive to deliver maximum guest satisfaction for every visitor and guest, and are, of course, disappointed that your recent experience was impaired due to the actions of other golfers. We understand that prior to your round, you were happy being paired with another group, which is standard practice when the tee-sheet is very busy. We agree that it is most unfortunate that you did not enjoy your round as a result of those you were playing with but trust you will appreciate that we cannot control the behaviour of every golfer or guest. We will, however, raise your concerns with the member present and can only apologise that greater courtesy was not shown to you and your playing partner. September 19 was an exceptionally day with many factors affecting golf that were beyond our control. A group of overseas visitors were delayed due to travel challenges out with their control, which resulted in a thirty-minute delay to golf. When unforeseen issues like this arise, we endeavour to manage the tee-sheet as sensitively as possible to minimise disruption. Again, we can only apologise for any inconvenience caused and would very much welcome the opportunity to be of service to you again in the future and will ensure your round is personally overseen by the head of golf.
