Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just exciting.
The air you breathe in the shrine is shivering, one of the most beautiful experiences on my Trips.
The care, the silence, the respect you live entering is spectacular, it almost seems to embrace one by one the fallen in battle.... all very young.
Beautiful and cared for also the small museum at the entrance of the shrine, perfectly cared for and managed by the military.
A must if you are in the area.
We went there specially from Sardinia... to pay tribute to the fallen.

On the top of the mountain Grappa at 1776 meters high there’s this enormous ossuary to remember the thousands young soldiers died during the First World War.
Here 22.950 human remains ( 10.295 Austrians and Hungarians 12.615 Italians ) are preserved inside singles tombs and many more in common tombs.

This is the site of a World War 1 Battle Mounte Grappa. Over 128,000 troops died in the battle, French, Italians, English and Austrians who made up 100,000 of the dead. It was the last line of defense on the Italian border from the Austrian and German neighbors. 25,000 remains of Italians and Austrians are buried up there with com reactive plaques for each of them in a mausoleum that sits at the top of the mountain peak. There are some cannons from the battle and a small temple as well as the Milano regiment building. It is 27 kilometers from the base of the mountain outside Bassano del Grappa and is an amazing scenic drive through the little communities scattered through the mountain region. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful scenery, incredible location, and a memorial to thousands of deaths. The trip up is incredible as you see and hear the cows wandering the hills while there bells are clanging. You feel like you’ve just walked into the scene of Heidi.

When you get to the monument walk up through the tunnels to see what life was like. The monument itself is impressive—there was something that Il Duce got right.

Definitely worth the trip.

My best advise to bike Mount Grappa is to start slow and finish.
Loved the ride. Go slow to go fast.
Best to take a shell for the cool top even when it’s hot in the valley.
Great sense of accomplishment when you get to the top.

Ok, so I love mountains so I am slightly biased, but the views from the top of Monte Grappa were the best I have encountered. Standing at certain points on the war memorial makes it feel like you are standing on a giant white diving board suspended 1.2 miles above the flat Venician plain, with Venice about 50 miles in the distance. The war memorial is impressive and commands solemnity and respect for all those 22,000 soldiers who died on the ww1 front line around this area. The ww1 tunnels under the hill add a sense of real adventure for teenagers. Couldn't recommend highly enough but you will need your own transportation to get here.

A magnificent tribute to the fallen soldiers of world war I. Make sure you climb through the underground tunnels dug by the Italians to protect the valley from the Austirans. Very interesting. There are a couple ways to get up to this magnificent monument, the one way is not for the faint of heart. 25 switch backs that take about 50 minutes to go up on what should be a one way round. Makes for an entertaining climb:)
