Absolutely love it here. Yes expect to get muddy shoes it's a rescue sanctuary. Without this place where would the poor animals be. I wish I could win the lottery and I'd support them straight away. The ducks and ghesse are wonderful. The donkey and horses so friendly. Brilliant place to visit . ❤️❤️❤️

after doing a treasure trail of Mistley we stumbled upon this fantastic cafe. the staff were very accommodating especially as they were so busy, we managed to squeeze in a table of 4. Today the cafe was offering a 2 course xmas lunch special as well as a selected menu which included all day breakfast. they were so busy yet... More

For people who slam this place as rubbish its not meant to be a great day out for all the family. Its somewhere unwanted neglected animals can live safely and comfortably. The animals are few horses, ponies, goats, pigs, alpacas, sheep, and a donkey, rabbits and plenty of chickens ducks and geese. It is quite run down in appearance but... More

It doesn't have immaculate presentation and it is a little run down, but it is a real animal rescue using the funds it has to care for the animals rather than on decor. Very reasonable price and nice to visit. You can buy a bag of animal feed and feed the animals. It also has nice food in the cafe... More

People who complain it's rubbish and run down should think about the immense cost of looking after human being cast offs! If we were better with animals these places wouldn't need to exist. If you think it's run down support them with a donation. They do a fantastic job of actually caring for the animals. Keep up the great work

This is advertised as an animal sanctuary, but the place seemed very run down. It costs £3 per person but there's very little to see. A few ponies, a couple of goats and sheep and alpacas and loads of ducks, geese and swans which you can see along the river anyway. We managed to get round the whole site in... More

Took the grandchildren/great grand children here they loved being able to touch animals..OK it does look a little run down..but it is an animal rescue..not a zoo..and they are doing a great job.

I often pop down for a nice breakfast provided from the tea rooms, there is plenty for the little'uns to do and a pleasant place to be all together. Nice and clean facilities and friendly helpful staff as always.

About 5 odd years ago we found a lovely whippet whom we named Molly. We were unfortunately not home enough to give her the care and attention she required as took her to Mistley to find her forever home. It was a bit wild and Scruffy with chickens and a few rats running around but the staff were lovely and... More
