Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Popped into this pub as not a local but met a friend for a drink. Staff extremely friendly and very helpful, Great priced drinks and nice atmosphere. Just to say that I popped to the Rock Rose and found my same drinks nearly £3.00 more.

Thank you to Jordan and his staff for the warm welcome. Will pop back hopefully for one of those Sunday Roasts, which are extremely competitively priced.

After travelling all day we were staying not far from the Archer before we caught a ferry the following day. Many places were closed as it was a Monday but The Archer was open. It was a great experience with lovely friendly staff and very good home cooked food. Well worth a visit if you're in the area and in need of a good meal.

Unfortunately the restaurant is closed and has been for a while which is a pity. Its still worth a visit though as it is a friendly well kept pub, great staff and the beer is well presented

Had a business meeting with a colleague so thought we would meet here. Wow what a massive mistake it was. The Landlady (We was told her name was Lynda) is absolutely vile and her foul mouth was awful . She came over to our table to speak to us and her body odor was absolutely disgusting and she had probably been wearing the same clothes for days if not weeks. She also spoke to her staff like trash. However, her staff are loud unprofessional and cant say a sentance without using foul words but it seems that when you have Lynda as an example its no surprise. Got to be the worst pub I have ever been into and we travel the country and have many meetings in pubs. Avoid avoid avoid like the plague nobody there has any customer skills whatsoever.

Parked up outside, waited a few moments for business friends in a van to arrive, total 10 of us, god awful woman came out from the pub ranting and panting, "you can't parked here it's for customers" before i could tell her i was waiting for a van full of people to turn up she wanted me off the land, well if thats how you treat customers i'm glad we never came in, spent our money just up the road at the Rock Rose.
