Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

After wanting to visit here for some time I finally managed it today with my 14 year old granddaughter. This is just 5mins up the road from where I live. It was absolutely worth the visit , so interesting and such a pleasure. Some wonderful vehicles on show. All are regularly serviced and in full working order. The staff also were so friendly and full of info. This is something for all ages. A miniature train ride for the little ones. Also their own transport cafe for a cuppa and o nice choice of cakes 😋. All beautifully presented.

Popped in here after husband had seen Henry Cole visit on TV. What a gem it is! Lots of information, staff help and friendliness out of this world. Lots of exhibits and an amazing train set up with buttons to push (perfect for kids!). Easy access, great tea/coffee. Easy to find but do check opening times if coming for a visit. Definite trip down memory lane looking at the vehicles, motorbikes and old shop set ups.
Also it's pay once for the year!

Wonderful collection of vehicles of all ages, ephemera and even buildings! Almost too much to see - fantastic to see so much here, a lot of it relating to the local area. Also specialist exhibitions commemorating the ferries so important to Dover, the Channel Tunnel. And celebration of Kent vehicle manufacturers such as the motorcycle maker Norman.
The Museum is run by volunteers and their love and dedication is apparent - thank you!

On the website I see the link for the bus website, however, not being familiar with the area; which exact bus do I look for that would be considered Town Center to get on to go to the museum? There are obviously multiple stops in Dover. I am wanting to make a day of the castle and museum on a day trip from London using public transport. TIA!

My apologies for not responding to your question before but Tripadvisor is not notifying me when there are queries.
You can catch the 90. 92A or the 61, they all stop in Priory Street which is the nearest to the Dover Priory railway station if you are coming train. They all stop in Honeywood Road, Whitfield the nearest stop to the museum but I would recommend the 61 as it is the shortest journey. When you get off the bus cross the road and walk towards the roundabout where the Rock Rose is, turn into Menzies Road and at the next roundabout (100 metres of so) turn left into Willingdon Road and you will see the museum on your left. I hope that helps.
