Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stop 3, 2nd June and another very interesting museum. Not as much in the way of tanks but the displays make up for it. Definitely worth watching the film which alternates in English and French.

A superbly displayed and impressive collection!
Having spent some time touring the D-Day beaches and sites and some of its (many!) museums, we rated this as the best-displayed and most interesting.
Not the least impressive aspect is it marvellous range of "real artefacts" (vehicles, weapons etc.) and not just "the written word" or photos, which can over-dominate less well-endowed museums. The dioramas/displays were very well done.

I'm glad that so many people have given such positive reviews and enjoyed this museum. The Omaha D-Day landing was a near disaster, with thousands of GI's slaughtered before they even set foot on the beach, and they deserve a fitting memorial, but this museum doesn't do justice to this in my view. It does have an impressive collection of artefacts, and masses of photographs - some positioned almost at ground level making them very hard to see - and some dioramas, but it needs to come into the 21st Century and tell the story in an engaging way. The new Arromanches Museum sets the bar. Perhaps some American millionaire philanthropist could inject some cash into it for a much needed revamp?

Small museum with many items, displays and photographs with text. Compared to others it feels not very modern, but it had everything, is complete and accurate.

My last review of this place was removed . Staff aggressive , and bully's . Turned on me as I objected at their ridiculous & shameful policy of charging €7.50 to use the facilities ie you can only use the toilets if you pay the entrance fee into the museum. My family had paid to enter the museum and I had spent over €30 in the shop . We weren't freeloading . I left and went outside . The mber of staff who had been shouting at me , went outside to smoke (very professional) . She saw me take photos of the shop and chased me demanding my phone as she accused me of taking her pic. She was screaming at me . Give me your phone ! It was awful . I felt very threatened got in my car and locked the door . My advice don't ask to use the toilet !

Great museum if you are interested in war artefacts - in particular the different types of vehicles that were used in WW2. Has over 40 different vehicles and lots of different re-enacted scenes which helps with visualising what it was really like. Ladies at the ticket desk were really helpful and the gift shop has so many great books on history and WW2 and Normandy. Worth the entrance price. We took our teens and they enjoyed it even if they did finish up before us!

This museum has a good selection of memorabilia on display, probably not the most modern museum that I have visited in the area but it did have items that I had not seen before, the cinema experience is good and has a nice gift shop

Amazing!! I felt I was almost in 1944 on D Day. So many items left behind on the beaches from the soldiers, some found as recently as 2008. The video was informative as well.

The purpose of our visit was to sprinkle some of my son's ashes on Omaha Beach as he would have absolutely loved to have visited as he was such a WWII buff.

Museums large and small dot the Normandy coast.
After visiting the splendid Memorial de Caen, you might feel that you've seen enough museums. But each one has a different story to tell. If you haven't seen this one, it's highly recommended.

Tight parking but worth it. A smaller, but very well put together D-Day museum dedicated for Omaha Beach. It is just up from the beach. There is so much to see here - it is condensed, but worth it. Great gift shop too.
