About
Galleon Marine, based in the historic village of Odiham, offer Rowboats, Sit on Kayaks, Open Canoes and electric powered boats that can be rented by the hour to enjoy and explore the Basingstoke Canal. We also have a picnic garden and small kiosk that sells, ice cream, hot and cold drinks and snacks. Our Self Drive Narrowboats can be rented for short breaks and week holidays for groups of 2 to 8 people. We have a day hire narrowboat for up to 10 people that can be hired for 5 or 7 hours. We are open from March to October.

3rd family chill out holiday on board narrow boat Bramble on the Basingstoke Canal. Simply perfect... Thanks to the entire crew at Galleon Marine for once again presenting a clean, well prepared boat with another careful handover. The canal is a rare jewel passing though the home counties and a real nature corridor, bursting with wildlife. Guys, this is special...

We have taken several narrowboat holidays and this was the best! From the handover, Karen and Arthur were so friendly and gave so much information with a great map showing all the best moorings/pubs/towns to visit along the Basingstoke Canal. Odiham Castle and The Mill House pub were our favourites. Our boat Teasel was a gorgeous, cosy little boat that had everything we needed. The canal itself is so quiet, relaxing and crystal clear in places. We saw many varieties of fish, water birds and dragonflies, not to mention the bats that make the disused tunnel at Odiham their home. On our return we had a lovely little trip in the kayaks on offer at the base before sadly saying goodbye to Odiham and Galleon Marine. We would love to come back and I'm actually not sure whether to leave this review as id like to keep this beautiful canal a secret!

Thank you to all at the Marine!! Perfect few days aboard the Teasel. Luckily the weather was good for us! We had a fantastic relaxing time on her, beautiful scenery and boat very well equipped! Just cannot fault it. We moored up for 2 nights at Greatbottom Flash … just stunning!!! You should be very proud of your business. We will be back! 😀

Excellent, friendly, personal family feel service. Were really helpful in enabling us to sort out quite a complex multi canoe hire. Everything ready ahead of our arrival time and these guys are a thoroughly great bunch of people to deal with. We had a fantastic day on the canal, and everyone in the group really enjoyed themselves.

Our second narrowboat hire with Galleon Marine onboard their 8 berth narrowboat 'Bramble.'
So, what's not to like...
If the beautiful Basingstoke Canal provided the course for our journey during the week we spent on Bramble, the boat kept us safe, warm (heating in the early mornings & hot showers) and very, very comfortable.
Friendly welcome (again) and handover to quickly reacquaint us with Bramble. An immaculately clean boat, and very well appointed throughout.
The Basingstoke Canal is BEAUTIFUL....
We'll be back again, soon...

The Basingstoke Canal is such a beautiful part of Hampshire and Surrey, passed closely by many thousands of people in cars and trains every day, but experienced only by the fortunate few.
Our boat Bramble from Galleon Marine was a delight, well appointed and with many thoughtful touches.
A warm welcome and thorough handover.
We got all four seasons over the weekend we booked as it was the second last weekend in October, but each I think added to our appreciation of the wonderful environment, wildlife and changes of landscape we all experienced onboard.

Karen was very hospitable & made us feel welcome. Scenery was amazing! Clean toilets on site, with cold drinks, hot drinks, snacks & hot food. Would recommend! Thank you.

Our 2nd booking with Karen and Arthur, this time on Teasel. As before, everything was well organised and we were soon on our way seeing the wonderful scenery and wildlife including our first Kingfishers!! Our one and only problem was with the fridge but that was resolved in no time at all, with no inconvenience to us. We cannot wait until we can do it again.

We had a fantastic few days on Teasel. The boat was very well equipped and was very clean. Karen and Arthur provide great customer service and the handover when we arrived was thorough and helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic week on board Bramble. Karen and Arthur were so welcoming and accommodating even though we were late and had missed our allotted slot. Instruction via the videos beforehand and in-person from Arthur made the driving and use of the boat so easy. Karen even went to the trouble of posting back some shoes we had left on board. A wonderful restful week on the canal!

for hire of 2/3 berth narrowboat what is definition of short break is it only long weekend or can it be say Monday ,Tuesday and wednesday?

Our changeover days are the same as other UK hire companies Monday and Friday. So a short break is either Friday 4pm to Monday 10am or Monday 4pm to Friday 10am. This gives us time to clean and get boats ready between hires.
