It was an amazing experience. Two hours of gently getting to know the owls and a bundle of knowledge from Alan. My grandson and son were loved it.
Thank you

We have just had the most wonderful morning here. We had the 2 hour Owl experience. Cameron talked us through each of the Owls we handled, starting with little Owls and then working our way up to the large Eagle owls. Very informative. The final 1/2 hour involved flying several types of owls and even a few different hawks. Don’t hesitate to book this experience. It’s fab

Such an amazing day. This was a present never to be forgotten. The location is tricky to find but Alan suggested using WhatThreeWords which is more specific than the usual GPS. Even so, allow a little extra time as many of the roads are single track. Alan showed us the new site before Cameron gave us the full tour demonstrating his knowledge and love of the wonderful variety of birds. We walked to the local fields to fly Lola the Harris hawk which was just amazing. It's possible to recognise that the birds have distinct characters in a very short span of time. A fabulous day. Keep up the good work!

Such a fantastic experience, the highlight of our holiday in Somerset.
Alan showed us lots of his beautiful birds and we handled them too - hawk, owls, falcon, buzzard. We went into his field and flew many of them from a perch to our gloved hand and also from each other - such a great thing to do.
We then went for a walk with his Harris Hawk Lola. Walking through beautiful countryside with Lola flying free and following us - absolutely amazing.
Alan is so knowledgeable and truly cares for his birds.
I would totally recommend this activity, we are so pleased we booked it.

Alan brought us a selection of his birds of prey to our Stratton Home & Garden Club meeting and entertained members with his fantastic birds. We were able to hold and stroke each of the birds and witness them in flight. While we watched two of his owls flying he explained how their plumage worked for silent flight and how sounds were directed towards their ears by the feathers around their gorgeous eyes. He told us how the kestrel hovered following a urine trail, and we now know which birds are hunters, and which ones eat carrion, and the reasons why. The largest birds we saw were the buzzard and an European Eagle Owl. To be able to see these birds up close and to touch them was an exceptional experience that we shall not forget.

My mother has lived just down the road from here for 10 years and this was the first time we'd visited. My eldest son (7) is absolutely obsessed with owls - they are absolutely his favourite thing in the world!

We visited on a Sunday when there were no external shows being done so all the birds were in residence. We were also lucky enough to visit on a weighing day so all the birds were out, and we were the only guests so we had the undivided attention of the volunteers! It was not a flying day, but this suited our group composition much better.

We spent over an hour handling owl after owl - my son has never been so happy in his life. The birds are well kept and clearly cared for and the knowledge displayed by the two volunteers who were talking with us is phenomenal. Particularly of note was a young man Theo who cannot have been older than 14 and displayed a knowledge far beyond his years. He is clearly deeply passionate about his subject and has the makings of a great showman to boot.

I have a younger child (3) who was less enamored of the birds, but he enjoyed them flapping and making noises at him as well as watching the polecat. Sue fetched the puppy out to see him and he was very happy with this! My niece (2) however was just as delighted as the elder with the birds.

Both volunteers anticipated the needs and abilities of the 3 children we had with us extremely well

You may struggle slightly to get a pushchair around but by no means the worst place to take one. Similarly wheelchair / mobility - not impossible but it won't be the easiest place you have visited. The open sided outdoor classroom area is well constructed and holds around 10, with 2 steps to enter. There are heaters fitted but they were not turned on. Dress for the weather, there is no indoor provision

We parked across the road at the Bruton Prep school. I am not certain whether this is by arrangement with the Falconry or whether we were advised as we live locally. I would anticipate this would not be possible on a weekday during school hours.

My sister, partner and I visited today as a surprise for my sister as she is such a big lover of owls. We were made to feel very welcome on our arrival and it was not long before we were in the company of some magnificent birds of prey. We then found ourselves approaching an area where there must have been 12-15 owls on perches. Alan introduced us to all the owls one by one and we were even lucky to get to hold them, wearing a glove of course. These birds are surreal and we felt honoured to have been in their company for so long. They were all so well behaved. Alan is extremely knowledgeable on all the birds. He is dedicated to Rescue, Rehabilitation and Education of Birds of Prey. We highly recommend a visit.

Alan is very relaxed, knowledgeable and passionate about his work. It's been ten years since I last spent time with this number of birds and all the ones I handled were well behaved. Alan has a breeding program with burrowing and long eared owls. He has a buzzard who will fly to the glove, a beautiful spectacled owl, snowy owl, grey owl, tawny eagle, harris hawks, barn owl, european eagle owls, a juvenile bald eagle and many more ... anyone coming here will leave with a greater knowledge and a better understanding of a different species.

What a privilege and honour to have the opportunity to learn falconry with Alan. In the last 6 months he has taught me so much. The more I learn, the clearer it is to see the welfare of Alan’s birds is paramount. Not only does he care for his own birds but I have seen first hand the love and attention he has given to rescuing and rehabilitating wild birds in need of some TLC. He is the font of all bird knowledge and never falters when asked random questions. He is always very welcoming, patient and has never made me feel inferior with my lack of knowledge. Oh.... the birds are pretty amazing too!!
