A purpose built hide for viewing the feeding of the Red Kites . The hide has some wooden benches to sit on and standing room with a shelf to rest a camera on . We feed at 3.00PM SUMMER and then 2.00PM when the clocks change the end of OCTOBER. You need to be inside the hides before feeding time , If you arrive after feeding time you may not be allowed into the hides because this disturbs the people already inside and waiting. NOISE must be kept to a minimum so that the Red Kites are not scared away Children must be taken out if making too much noise . Remember these birds are wild and we have no control on how many will turn up or how soon they will dive in for the food . Every day is different and also weather dependant etc etc CAFE IS CLOSED , PLEASE EAT, DRINK ETC ON ROUTE. WELL BEHAVED DOGS WELCOME must be on a lead. REMEMBER YOU MUST BE IN THE HIDE BEFORE FEEDING SO YOU WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY . THEY ARE COMPLETELY WILD AND WE CANNOT PREDICT HOW SOON THEY WILL COME IN TO FEED .

I visited the feeding station on Friday and was blown away at the number of Red Kites visible, making for an excellent photographic experience. Peter was also very friendly, and clearly a lover of wildlife. Will be back again!

Went with my partner, a photography enthusiast and loved the experience. For the price, how anyone can say it's expensive is beyond me (having had a quick peak at the 1* reviews...). We were kindly guided to a section where we could set up our...More

Red Kites are magnificent birds. There is nothing more basic and satisfying than watching them at close quarters, and at this location you certainly get that. The hides are close to the action - we turned up about 40 mins before feeding and were rewarded...More

The kites gathered well in advance of feeding time at 3pm.They were accompanied by buzzards, magpies and crows. At feeding time, there were over 60 kites in the air and they repeatedly swooped down directly in front of the hide. They were so fast moving...More

Hi, glad to hear from someone that appreciates how wonderful the Red Kites are .We do say to people put your camera down for 10 minuets and just watch because you miss so much just looking through a lens. Thank you .

There are no gimmicks at this feeding station, just a crude hide with benches, a bloke with a bucket of meat and a lot of red kites. They are spectacular and worth seeing even if you're not into bird watching. We went with young kids...More

Amazing watching these birds up close and seeing them diving and swooping for the meat. Owners were really helpful, and friendly. We came all the way from Kent predominantly to witness this and we weren't disappointed in the slightest. Thanks so much 👍🏼

Hi, the cafe is still shut sadly as it wasn't busy enough. We have had change of use and it is now three adult only holiday apartments . We do have a toilet at the hide for customers . Hope this helps
