A purpose built hide for viewing the feeding of the Red Kites . The hide has some wooden benches to sit on and standing room with a shelf to rest a camera on . We feed at 3.00PM SUMMER and then 2.00PM when the clocks change the end of OCTOBER. You need to be inside the hides before feeding time , If you arrive after feeding time you may not be allowed into the hides because this disturbs the people already inside and waiting. NOISE must be kept to a minimum so that the Red Kites are not scared away Children must be taken out if making too much noise . Remember these birds are wild and we have no control on how many will turn up or how soon they will dive in for the food . Every day is different and also weather dependant etc etc CAFE IS CLOSED , PLEASE EAT, DRINK ETC ON ROUTE WELL BEHAVED DOGS WELCOME must be on a lead. REMEMBER YOU MUST BE IN THE HIDE BEFORE FEEDING SO YOU WILL NOT BE TURNED AWAY . THEY ARE COMPLETELY WILD AND WE CANNOT PREDICT HOW SOON THEY WILL COME IN TO FEED .

If you want a good experience with birds of pray. Then look no further. We went to the red kite feeding centre. There was around 100 red kites that came down to feed. It was a great sight to see. As these birds were once on the endangered species list. So if you are in the Brecon Brecon pop along... More

We had an enjoyable afternoon watching the red kites being fed in the wild from the comfort of the hide. We got to see these marvellous birds quite close up and took lots of great photos. We'd definitely recommend a trip here for a different and interesting afternoon out.

Staying in Red Kite View holiday cottage, we went to see the Kites being fed, approximately 60 Kites circling then swooping once the meat was thrown out , amazing to watch these magnificent birds feeding in the wild, also many Buzzards ,crows and magpies around , a wonderful afternoon we sat for just over 2hrs watching them come and go... Whilst staying in a near by hotel we visited the red kite feeding centre. I wanted to try out my camera so great opportunity. Modern and clean, with decking outside with bird feeders situated just at the Ensor decking so you get a really close view of all the different kinds of birds around there. Very natural, I would recommend... More

We had a wonderful afternoon (23rd Jan. 2017) at Llanddeusant, watching approx 110 - 120 kites feeding. We were four adults, two in late 50's, one passionate bird enthusiast, one fair-weather bird watcher and two friends in their mid seventies who had never even been in any kind of hide at all. The hide is brilliant, spacious, well thought out... More

The review very much depends on whether feeding birds interest you or not. There are no facilities, so whatever you need, bring your own. There is a toilet but that's about all. There are some covered hides that look out onto an open field, raw meat is thrown into the field and then you wait. There will be a mixture... More

Our third trip to the Beacons and we finally made it to the feeding station. Wonderful to be so close to these birds of prey. Wrap up warm and be prepared to be very still and quiet. Dog friendly - ours labrador was mesmorised. Charming friendly owners, easy parking, short walk to hide. Lovely way of spending an hour. Surounding... More

Hi glad you made it too . We love dogs and although some people do complain about us allowing dogs we would rather people bring their beloved pet into the hide than leave it in the car . Thank you for visiting . More

Didn't think we would be able to take the dog here but we were really pleasantly surprised. There were hundreds of wild red kites being fed. It was a truly fantastic sight. Loved it. Would highly recommend a trip here.
