There are alot of forts on Bermuda, however, this one isn't well maintained and there isnt much to see here. Stick to the larger forts - St. Catherine and the one at the Dockyards.

Overall, there are 91 forts (or have been) in Bermuda. This one is somewhat out of the way, but also one of the most well preserved outside of the Dockyard. Great place for a picnic.

Our carriage ride driver took us to Gates Fort, where we explored this historical spot which guarded the entrance to the bay.

If you are in the area it is nice to see. There is a small stiarcase so you can climb to stand on the top. The view is very nice.

We always ride out to Gates Fort because the view across the cut that the cruise ships come through emphasizes how skilled the captains must be - it is so narrow! On our last visit it was obvious the parks department has missed taking care...More

Short walk from town. No facilities. Could make money selling water and iced drinks. Very nice views. Small cove. Sign showing local aquatic life

The walk from fort st Catherine here is absolutely wonderful. The gates fort used is just a small structure but being one of the oldest forts in the island it is significant.
