- Larry W52 contributionsA great experienceWe've been to Bermuda several times but never made it to the Aquarium, Natural History Museum and Zoo. We had our 4 grandkids with us and we all throughly enjoyed our time. The only challenge was getting to the zoo from the King's Wharf. There is no easy way. And if you choose to not do the buses, it's get a big pricey. Not as much as the cruise ships, but it was a $90 cab ride (for eight of us) one way. On our way back we took a mini-bus to the Ferry and the ferry to King's Wharf. Unfortunately, With the little ones, the pink buses wouldn't work for us. But I would recommend visiting if you have the opportunity!Visited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 26 May 2024
- ticoalraJefferson, Maryland300 contributionsGreat Small Zoo and Aquarium! We visited the Zoo and Aquarium as part of a ship excursion. We were given 40 minutes to explore both and it was perfect. The Zoo was really nice and we saw animals that we typically don't see back home. The aquarium was small but had great exhibits!Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 July 2024
- NauticalsNewton, Massachusetts143 contributionsDefinitely visit if you are in BermudaIt was my 1st time visiting the Aquarium and Zoo in Bermuda. Admission was very reasonable which covered the Aquarium, Zoo and small museum. I was impressed how much there was to see and the variety sea life in the Aquarium. The zoo had flamingos and other birds as well as a few reptiles. The best part is the public bus has a stop at the Aquarium.Visited July 2024Travelled soloWritten 7 August 2024

Its a little out of the way (if you coming from the Dockyards you need to take the ferry to Hamilton and then a bus 10 or 11 from bus station) its about 20min ride from the bus station (which is not far from the ferry dock). The tickets are 10$ per person and all zoo, aquarium and museum are included. The zoo exhibits are immersive, which means you walk amongst the animals. Don’t miss the big water tank on the way to the bus station it contains some beautiful sea turtles. The views from the rest places in the zoo are gorgeous.Visited September 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 7 September 2024

There is a variety of fish and animal life that are well taken care of. The outside turtle and seal exhibits thrill children and adults.
A unique and well maintained play ground is ideal for the little ones.
Their small coffee shop offers a good variety of items and excellent coffee from Devil’s Island. Seating is outside overlooking the water.
This is a must visit stop.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the aquarium and zoo. The zoo is really well organized. I saw some animals that I never get to see back in Portugal. One of the zoo workers called Nesta (like Bob Marley) was so helpful. He saw us looking at the seals and approached us voluntarily and gave us the most wonderful details about the seals and their history. Thank so much Nesta! You made my day!

My husband and I took the bus from Hamilton to the Aquarium. The bus stop is directly in front of the building and taxis are out front as well. Admission was $10/per person which was fantastic. It is a small aquarium and small zoo, however, for $10 it was perfectly priced. Be warned: some animals are not behind cages, but roam close to people. My husband loved this--I did not.

Great place on a rainy day or for families. Lots of aquariums with fish local to Bermuda, huge green turtles, seals, small zoo and small history museum that focuses on marine and plant life. If you buy year pass it’s tax deductible and you get discounts on other tours. Check for feeding times of turtles and seals and other animals

Unfortunately the zoo area was closed due to covid, but the aquarium and museum were still open.
The aquarium was great, lots of different fish and sea life - and the museum was very informative.
The place was kept very clean and the team there were friendly.
I can imagine this place is even better with everything open, but was still great as is! Worth a visit for sure!

Very cute place. Sea Turtles out front. 40-50 tanks inside. Clean and enjoyable. Zoo part is cute with interesting animals. Museum is one room but interesting. $15 admission is well worth it.

Are there any public beaches near the aquarium?

The closest public beach to our facility is Shelly Bay.

If you take a taxi / moped / Twizy direct from Dockyard, it is about a 40 minute drive - ask a cab driver to take you via the South Shore for the best views of beaches and reefs.
You can also take a ferry to Hamilton across the Great Sound, then take a 15 minute taxi to the aquarium in Flatts.
You can also take the bus but you will need to transfer in Hamilton - this will take you about 90 minutes or longer depending on traffic.

It is $10 for adults and $5 for children (5-12) and seniors (65+). Children under 5 are free.
This admits you to the aquarium, zoo and natural history museum.
Hope this helps.

How do I get to the aquarium from the Royal Navy Dockyard?
Written 22 June 2018
Take the number 7 or 8 bus to Hamilton bus station. Or you may like to take the ferry, it is quicker and a prettier route, it is a short walk to the bus terminal from the ferry terminal. Once there you have the choice of the number 3, 10, or 11 buses. The number 3 doesn't stop outside the aquarium but it stops in Flatts village and is less than a five minute stroll.
If you are coming off the cruise ship I suggest you don't choose the day you are leaving for this excursion as you will be under pressure to get back in time.

I can't find the hours this is open. We have been 3 times but our grandson has been only once and he was only 5 now he is 8 and we want to visit again. Love this place and want to go Monday afternoon in Aug. Taking the ferry to Hamilton then the bus to the Zoo I think and would like to spend the afternoon there (2 + hours). Besides he needs a new book about fish in the Atlantic from the gift shop his is worn out :).
Thanks

The BAMZ is open from 9 am to 5pm with last admission at 4pm. We do not take entries after 4pm because you will not be able to see everything and we do not wish you to be disappointed. You should also know that some of our zoo exhibit start closing at 4pm to allow keepers time to get the animals fed and sorted for the evening. If you come at 3pm or later, we suggest you start your tour in the zoo and finish in the aquarium. I hope you find this helpful.
Sincerely,
Ian

How do you get from cruise ship terminal to aquarium?l
Written 23 November 2017
We took a ferry from the cruise terminal to St. George and then a bus to the aquarium. It was fairly easy, just make sure you have a map and keep track of the stops, the buses do not stop unless you ask them to

Hopefully this is not too late - we have two wheelchairs that are available for free at the front desk if they are asked for. We are mostly wheelchair accessible and have plans to modify some areas that are accessible but have steep ramps.
Thanks

Traveling with a group of 10 (all family) ages 48-2.....what are some not-miss things we should do?? And should we be aware of any safety concerns on the island??
Written 28 October 2016
Yes, do not rent a car or moped because they drive on opposite side of road and there is high instance of accidents Eden Americans rent vehicles in Bermuda.
Check out bus and Ferry schedules as they can get you safely around Island.
Hamilton, St George's and Horseshoe Bay Beach are great day trips.
Enjoy
