We visited the park to see the ancient Boabab tree. There are only 2 boababs in the Carribbean and they are both in Barbados. This is the bigger of the two. It is mind-blowingly enormous and awe inspiring to stand next to a 1000 yr old tree.

We drove to see the tree which was pretty cool. It sits in the park which didn't see too well maintained or visited. The fountain looked unloved and was empty. Worth to drive by or stop on the way to downtown Bridgetown, but I wouldn't make special plans to see otherwise.

I went whilst do my own walking tour of Bridgetown. It’s only two minutes walk from St Michaels Cathedral. There were sadly a lot of rough sleepers hanging about and it didn’t seem safe. I did walk round the building were closed and the fountain was empty I saw one big balboas tree and a few buildings from the outside plus the run down fountain and bandstand but there were some newer energy saving model houses too, it was an odd mixture of things There were kids swings…

We attended the first day of Argofest which runs over three days - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It is a real family day out, although we attended on the Friday it was full of school children and there were hundreds of them with their teachers. There was a large number of farm animals on show - pigs, sheep, cows, goats as well as rabbits, gold fishes, horses. An Avery was indoors with a large number of parrots, birds, peacocks. A stage area where local school children displayed their dancing talents. For the adults there were displays of farm plant and machinery. Information stands giving advise on eating habits and diabetes control. A vast array of fruit and vegetables to purchase. As well as a huge number of food outlets and stalls selling gifts.…
