Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Little sandy beach. Easy to get into the sea. There is a supermarket across the road which is cheaper than the one in Holetown. There is also a van selling some warm snack food on the car park. Great for a few hours on the beach. You can also see the cruise liners parked up in Bridgetown from the beach.

I regularly use this unspoilt beach at Fitts Village.
If you are looking for the most stunning peaceful beach, then this is it!!
Look out for the bandstand opposite Jordans, walk on to the beach and you will find a lovely lady named Shiney.
You can rent a comfortable sunbed and umbrella for the day from her at a reasonable price and she will help you with anything else you need.
She also sells some beautiful jewellery that she makes herself.
There is usually a turtle or two swimming around in the shallows too.

We have been coming to the island for many years now and for the last 2 years we have visited this local beach. It's so quiet and peaceful with not too many tourists. Plenty of parking by opposite the shopping plaza, next to the big yellow boat on the beach. It's well worth a visit.

It’s a nice enough beach but you are spoilt for choice in Barbados. This is a quiet beach but only a small shack for drinks only. Waves are slightly rough and the beach is narrow. Only worth visiting if you’re staying locally. Otherwise head to Paynes, Carlisle or Rockley beach.

Ok, its a beach witch extends for a fair distance but so do most beaches in Barbados, however like most it is very close to the sea. If you want to go for a walk you need bare feet or wellingtons. The beach is clean but appears to appeal to people who are wanting to risk skin problems.

We stayed in Fitts Village in April of 2019 and it was fantastic. The beach was clean and the water was beautiful and clear. The beach is a local beach so there isn't tourists and we pretty much had the beach to ourselves.
There is an Italian restaurant and a couple of hotels spaced out in the location.
There is a take out spot (Kylo's) near the supermarket which is fantastic and it cost us about $7 USD for lunch (insane bargain compared to the restaurants geared towards tourists).

We have been coming to Barbados for many years and had never stopped of at Fitts village as we passed by on the bus. So we decided to stop by one Sunday and wished we had not bothered. Like all beaches it is a public beach and is very popular with the locals at weekends when they all come out with their picnics. We sat in the bandstand area initially before venturing on to the beach. The beach was not clean it was littered with cigarette ends, empty crisp packets, used disposable gloves etc. There are some boats moored on the beach which have been there for years with rubbish gathered underneath them. I won't be coming again.

Want some handcrafted jewellery? Well look no further than Shiney’s Bead Stall in Fitts Village Beach Barbados.
Shiney’s stall is right there on the beach and is full of hand made goodies, polite young lady will let you browse with no pressure to buy. Shiney can also rent you a deck chair and umbrella so you can enjoy this amazing - under used beach, or if you prefer snorkelling she can hire this equipment too.
Food and drink supplies are available at local supermarket 2 mins walk from the beach!!!! Shiney is a font of knowledge and can steer you in the direction of other activities available nearby.
Go and browse her stall and mention trip advisor As a small discount may apply.

Lovely beach peaceful quiet but if the beach guys spy a young pretty girl... watch out. If you are friendly it seems they take it too far.
Walking beside and I couldn't shake them off. My daughter had to be firm and send them on their way.
We didn't feel comfortable enough to return and it was all unnecessary.
Apart from that all is ok

Beautiful beach. It is a bit rocky as you approach the water, but if you walk along enough you will find clear spots. Stunning sunsets. It is off a very busy main road but the advantage of that is you can walk of the beach to buy coconuts , or natural juices.

We are looking to book a vacation home for a week with a teenage daughter.
There doesn't seem to be much around in terms of restaurants or stores.
Is this a safe area? Is the beach clean? How is the water.. calm, clear and clean?
Thank you kindly

Hi,
There is Jordan’s supermarket in Fitts Village on the main road, it is of a decent size and sells most things. We went to Il Tempio which is directly opposite Jordan’s a couple of times, really nice on the beach, good happy hours too. La Cabane is on the beach just the other side of Fitts at Batts Rock, Wendy’s sports bar in the direction of Holetown which is in Fitts. We got on the bus and went to Scarletts, Zaccios and Surfside (best burgers). Buses so frequent and cheap, having said that we did have a car to do some sightseeing. The beach in Fitts we only went to once, the bit we went on had lots of coral/stone to get in so we found a beautiful beach further up the island called Reeds Bay. I was told that if I went further up the beach at Fitts it was easier to get in. We had a great time. We never felt unsafe at all. Beach was clean and clear and beautiful blue sea.

Hi, can anyone tell us how much we can expect to pay for two loungers and an umbrella on the beach please?
Written 27 June 2019
I'm sorry, but we did not rent any beach chairs or umbrellas, so I don't know. However, when you get there, there is a beach vendor who can help you.
