In the ongoing interest of Caribbean “excellent adventures,” I just returned from another 4-day trip which included a full day-off in Barbados. After some on-line research and satellite map study, my buddy and I decided to head up the west coast of the island to...More

Enjoyed our stop here at this really old church - the first one built on Barbados. Beautiful inside and out.

The church is close to the first landingplace for English settlers arriving in Barbados in 1627. The architecture is beautiful, and the guided tour of the buildings and grounds are informative and interesting.

Beautiful church with lots of old Barbadian history, worth a stop. Make sure you hug the tree of life!

If you get chance visit this beautiful church in Holetown. The architecture is amazing; look at the way the windows open; I have never seen this before. See the plaquard on the pew (I won't spoli it). Worth a visit.

A place of tranquility, peaceful and beautiful. A church of historic interest, the social center for the planters and families who first arrived and settled in St. James in the earlier years from the 1600's.

Whilst there is not a lot to see, it is worth popping in to read their poems, which will warm the heart of all visitors. Had I been around on a Sunday morning I would have attended a service as it felt very welcoming.
