A beach without trees

A wider beach than some but there are no trees to provide shade. At low tide it opens up to coral and you can walk a long way in very shallow water Two beachside cafes nearby.

Apart from the seaweed making this beach look bad and not being able to enter water the upkeep was poor with litter piled up all along this beach with the eyesore of the derelict Sandy Bay hotel as a backdrop.

We had a good couple of days spent at this beach good waves a little rocky in places, cafes for drinks (esp miss p's) then on Easter Monday the dreaded seaweed invaded making it not possible to safely enter the water safely. This menace appears to be traveling up the west coast. If you want to see how bad it... More

About the longest beach of the 5 or 6 that we walked along while visiting the island. Like the other beaches, there are spots for public access so they aren't difficult to gain entry to. Bars and little shops are close by for a little activity if you aren't interested in sunning and swimming.

We had a view of this beach from our hotel-and it was lovely and uncrowded. A bit of a current but lots of good snorkeling and turtles!

lovely palm trees to sit under, waters were calm and the sea was crystal clear. We were also lucky enough to see some turtles . Also found a Sand Dollar which i'd wanted to find for years !!

Great beach to visit with calm sea due to the offshore coral reef, very shallow too over to the left side.2 good eateries & chairs from Spock.

Lovely, quiet, sandy bay with clear, turquoise water. You can swim out quite a way and still be in your depth. Swam there yesterday and came face to face with two turtles swimming lazily alongside me. Magical!! Clean, toilet facilities and good place to eat. Go there!

This little beach is relaxed in feel, there's shade from palm trees, soft sand and safe swimming in the area protected by the reef where the small boats are moored. The water can be a little cloudy with sand so it's not great for snorkelling though it depends on the day. You can however swim with turtles (whether you want... More
