Tourist trap, but great Moquitos and food. Go upstairs.

I live two blocks from La Bodeguita Del Medio, The great place to bring or buy a cigar. There is a true cubano hand roll cigar store a few blocks away. This is a true Cubano bar. The dancing on the dance floor is Cubano. And the music is authentic cubano with patrons from cuba and other parts of latin... More

While there is an upstairs and a back restaurant, the front bar can get swamped especially with a band crammed into the corner. Grab a mojito, stand in the street to drink it and then head on to somewhere else.

This place is famous for being one of Ernest Hemingway's old haunts. It has two floors. A tiny, overcrowded ground floor that spills out into the street and is crammed with obnoxious tourists there for the photo opp and a decent Moquito. PRO TIP: There are two staircases on opposite sides of the ground entrance. Take either of them up... More

If you go to Havana, then you can't leave without visiting this history-packed den of iniquity, that goes by the name of La Bodeguita del Medio (don't ask me to translate pls). Ernest Hemmingway was one of it's many famous patrons, along with Fidel Castro himself and a host of other pleasure seekers in between. It's essentially a little bar... More

We came here with our small travel group and watched the mojitos being made on the bar. It's a tiny place but manages to cram in a live band and a couple of brave people dancing. Everyone spills out onto the street and you can sign your name on the wall outside. There's nothing to do except drink and soak... More

food is as in most places in Avana. Take rice and all starters and will not mind. It is very similar to the one in Trinidad, signatures of famous and not: rather than bodeguita the best name would be "Signatures". That's why I remind, not for food.

Do go here for a Mojito while in Havana ~ I didn't even think I liked Mojito's till I tasted one here! Although tine they still manage, like most places in Cuba, to squeeze in a band!

We visited on a rainy day so fully expected to find the place full to the rafters. Well it was! The problem with this was that it was mainly drunken young idiots who thought it funny to try and push my wife over. They didn't find it quite so funny when they came across me though..I push back and an... More

This was another bar on my list for Havana. We came during the day with our tour group but the bar was overcrowded & spilling onto the street. We came back in the evening just before closing time & managed to get a seat at the bar. We were in Havana just after Castro died so there was no music... More

Pop your head in and take a quick look, but there are much better and more authentic places to have a mojito in Havana. This place is overrun with tourists, and the bartenders are a mafia who demand a tip with each drink served (I always tip bartenders, but I don't like to be loudly told to tip!).
