Definitely go to this beach if you have a stay in cuba. You just take a local bus.. takes about twenty minutes. There is a cafe restaurant at te entrance and there is also a little bottle shop where's you can buy some booze to take to the beach. There are locals walking the beach with snacks and drinks. The sun. Beds are of varying quality with shade cover... also of varying quality. The water is amazing. Go for a day Ormond half a day at least.…

To get to the beach the best and cheapest way is by bus from Parque de Central in Havanna. Cost is 5CUC and that is for both ways so don't loose your ticket. Best beach is at the end of the bus trip.

Took a 25 min private taxi driver to Playa Santa Maria. 6CUC for 2 chaises and an umbrella. Many vendors but none offensive and all respectful. Sand is fine powder... water so blue.

Located 8-10km east from Havanna. Long Beach with lifeguards and police so quite safe. Mainly local people use. Can rent sunbed for 2CUC, and cold beer for 3CUC. Few really cheap restaurants with great food, eg Mirazul.

Very good playa. Palm trees, all Cubans, a little bay . Go with a car ! Good little restaurant at the beach, grill. (Ask your langosta on the morning, so they can search you at the hotel), good grill, Cuban who cuts the coconut from the palmeras real if you ask. A good shop with fresh drinks, rum, cans, ... on the beach. Building of time of Sovjet Union destroyed. Not good for snorkeling. Recommended as very tipical. A lot of people Cuban at weekends !…
