My hotel was just in front of this building and it was impressive to have breakfast looking at its façade. It has just a serene beauty of neoclassical lines. Please be aware that all buildings are closed on weekends, so you have to visit them on weekdays.

If you go on the hop-on-hop-off bus tour you pass by and it is definitely worth a visit. Buildings are most impressive but a lot of them are in desperate need of repair!

We were on a People to People tour through our University, so we had the opportunity to tour through the campus. What beautiful buildings! Also, not many students texting or using cell phones! Quite different from the U.S.

Our large tour group had a student who guided us through the campus to explain the purpose of the many buildings. Without the tour guide explanations, it would have just been a nice walk around a pretty university campus.

I was told that education here is free, mostly because no one can afford to go to college in Cuba. The place was nice and bigger than i thought it would be.

This was a neat experience to visit the site of so much Cuban history. Students attend the university from all over the world and the areas nearby are similar to any college town (eateries, bars etc.).

Founded in 1728, oldest university in Cuba ans one of the first in the Americas. Originally a religious institution, first established in Old Havana and transferred in 1902 to a hill in Vedado. Has got fifteen Colleges inside and a very beautiful campus - recommended to check it out!
