We stayed here and really enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle of Old Havana, however other than the restaurants, there isn't too much to see here other than the Malecon area, as it is mostly a residential area.

Place to stay in Havana if you want to experience more real cuban life and people, accommodation is a little cheaper, cheaper restaurants. I can recommend a good spanish teacher living right there.

We stayed here in an Air B&B penthouse with balcony views overlooking the city and Malecon. This is the newest / hip area of Havana and is very safe for late night strolls.
