Some of the homes have been turned into businesses including B and Bs. These homes have been in the families for many generations. When Castro was in power, no private property could be bought or sold. The homes we saw have been well maintained.

Miramar is the residential part of Havana with large mansions and houses. This part is 10 minutes drive from the Malecon You can have a look on the houses from the street, search for the russian concrete building
