All the locals kept telling us that the plaza was soooo far from the city center but Camaguey is so small that it's really not as far as you would think it is. Plan to spend an hour at the plaza, maybe more if you decide to eat there. It's a small, slow town so go with the flow.

This was by far my favorite place in Camaguey. I loved the cobblestone streets, the pinkish colored church, shopping for handmade souvenirs and art, and enjoying a bite to eat at the nearby cafes. I also thoroughly enjoyed visiting with an old man who told me about how he was the model for one of the statues in the plaza.

Very nice place to see. There are little stands to purchase handmade gifts. The area has a bar right in front which you can seat and enjoy a beer or better yet a Mojito.

It's a lovely place to seat and contemplate the surrounding architecture and the art galleries. There are a couple of cafés as well.

So much history to be absorbed in this square. Quite the architectural wonder of Cuba with so much to see and do.

Though still in the city centre this plaza surprises by its calmness and nearly kind of rural atmosphere

Beautiful square with cobblestone, Tinajones and life-sized sculptures of camagüeyanos. The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Carmen is worth visiting.

This is a lovely little town and this square is very beautiful. The street art is in the form of bronze sculptures inviting you to participate. For instance three buxom ladies sitting on chairs deep in conversation - and one spare chair for you to take and join in.

This is one of the quieter plazas in Camaguey. The crowds are sparse and you can get a photo of the church without people everywhere. There are also 2 restaurants and an art gallery. It's really charming and peaceful

Camaguey is Cuba without the huge tourist crowds of Havana. A winner, full of charm and friendly people.
