Experience of a Lifetime

My partner and I went on two tours with Cuban Compass Tours, one to Havana and one to Matanzas “The Most Beautiful City in the World,” and it was the best decision of our whole trip to Cuba. Our guide Alejandro and our driver “Bebo” had the upmost professionalism both before in our conversations before arrival and during our tour. I truly believe without them we would not have nearly scratched the surface of Cuba; its people, culture, nature and so much more. I hope in the future we will be able to again take that Purple 56’ Bel-Air around new portions of Cuba, but the journey through Havana and Matanzas with Alejandro created enough memories that could still last a lifetime. Hopefully we can return soon!

The best way to discover Cuba!

My friend and I had a great time discovering La Habana with guide Tony and driver Felix from the Cuban Compass. They picked us up from our hotel in Varadero and dropped us back after the trip. Great services, good English, great vibe, lovely car and clear communication... A truly amazing experience. Thank you so much!

Awesome visit to Habana

We had the most fabulous day in Habana with Tony our guide and Lassro our driver.
It exceeded our expectations. It made our return trip to Cuba so special. We were collected from our hotel in Varadero and returned later that day two very polite guys .
Tony's knowledge of the city was fantastic. If you are reading this get in touch with Alejandro and just book it.

Lack of fuel according to the company

Just a pointed message to the people running this company in cuba. If you are going to engage in conversation with potential customers before they actually travel to cuba, offering trips, prices and agreeing dates, and getting hopes up, please then don't let them down the day they arrive in cuba. If you're reading this you'll remember the conversation. You then let us down the day we arrived in cuba by telling us you couldn't get fuel and that the trip was off. We understand the problems in cuba, we do. It just surprises us that you have a glowing review from another customer for whom you took out on a trip a few days after we left. This despite having no fuel! Anyway all was ok and we found someone else to accomodate us. The reason I'm writing this review is just to alert other potential customers to be careful about agreeing to trips and dates given the problems you explained. You are clearly an excellent host, but I'm sorry I wouldn't recommend you because of our experience.

Even before leaving for our vacation in Cuba, we contacted Cuban compass tours via e-mail and booked a full-day trip to Havana! We booked the Havana Twilights trip! Their response was quick and very accommodating, and they also took into account all our wishes! So on October 24, 2023, we experienced a really wonderful trip to Havana from our hotel in Varadero. Their driver and guide Tony picked us up at the hotel at the agreed time in a beautiful old American car! They both gave us a really wonderful trip! The guide Tony is a very nice young man who knows a lot about Cuba and its history! She is ready to meet all your wishes on the way and works very hard! He showed us a lot, both in Havana and on the way from Varadero to Havana! I highly recommend a trip with Cubancompass to everyone because they are really great! Nice but with tourist trap lunch

Communication with the company was easy and they were very responsive. Osniel and Robert were both great and it was cool to be in a classic car! They were both very friendly and shared experiences and information with us easily.

The one star we docked was because we didn't get a choice of lunch and also was not informed about where were going. The place was expensive and we almost didn't have enough cash (they dont accept credit cards) because we didn't know about this. We would have loved to eat at some small restaurant in the city but instead were taken to this tourist trap with no notice. Also, it would have been nice to have some free time to roam around the city on our own, especially since we finished a bit early.

Alejandro & Bebo, you are the BEST!

This is the third time that Alejandro has been our tour guide through Havana - and God willing, it wont be the last. He and his very nice driver Bebo picked us up at our resort in Varadero in a purple and white '56 Bel Air (which thankfully was air conditioned) . It was our friends first time in Havana and Alejandro made it so special for them. He is very knowledgeable and a very proud Cuban. Of course, Matanzas is the most beautiful place in the world and his 91 Fiat is the best car in the world but that '56 Bel Air and Havana were pretty special too! We saw the culture, the countryside, the real people of Cuba and so much more. Our tour was to go from 8:30 and last until after the sunset but the heat got to us and we asked to cut the tour shortly before the sunset. Thank you Alejandro and Bebo - God bless you both and keep you well. Until next time, my friends,............................

It was a great, professional, comfortable, friendly, and a safe trip! No regrets, only positive emotions!
50s American car with AC, very good driver and a knowledgeable and very well English speaking tour guide. It was a totally chill trip! Really appreciate that the guys were on time and that I was treated like a person, and not a tourist ATM!
Oh and it was also really easy to get in contact with the company to set up the trip (over WhatsApp). Contacted them in the evening and in the morning I was on the way to Havana!
Most importantly when traveling alone
- completely safe trip atmosphere! Not once was I uncomfortable!

Had a great day out to Havana. Our tour guide Osniel and driver Felix were great. We would recommend this company to anybody who wants to go on a trip in Cuba. Communication was brilliant with Alejandro. I have been emailing him in the UK to set up the trip and he was very quick in his responses.

Superb Private Tour Company

My husband and I were in Varadero in July of 2023. We both wanted to spend a day off of the resort, seeing some of the sites of Havana. We booked the Havana Highlights Tour. The first impression made was that of the communication with Alejandro. Through email, he responded promptly to my inquiries and communicated clearly all necessary information. I am very impressed with the detail and friendliness of our interactions. On the day of our tour, our driver and tour guide arrived on time and picked us up in a 1956 Bel-Air (I think??). Evelyn was superb in her role as our tour guide. She was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to give us detailed historical information as well as provide us personal insight into life in Cuba. Doing a private tour was definitely the way to go as they are able to tailor the tour exactly to your preference. For example, we chose to go to Fusterlandia, a neighbourhood that most group tours do not experience. We would highly recommend Cuban Compass Tours.
