This place is really cool, it's definitely worth visiting. But, of course, if you are going to stay on the island for several days and rent a car. In this region, unlike the many paradisiacal beaches with calm seas spread across Curaçao, the sea is very rough, which makes swimming impossible. On the other hand, the action of these strong waves for thousands of years "carved" beautiful landscapes, forming several "mouths". Travel between them by car to save time and don't forget to bring at least a drink, as there are no facilities on site.

Take a day to explore the parks on Curacao. For the small admission, you help preserve the nature here and you won't be disappointed. The coast on this side is wild and the water gets pushed through holes and caves and it is a splendid sight!

We visited here without really knowing what we were going to see. We were not disappointed and was blown away by the extraordinary landscape with the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks. It is generally too hot to walk the whole area but you are given a map with directions so you can drive to various parking areas where you can then undertake a short walk to the areas of interest. Make sure you take plenty of water as the heat is draining and you need to keep well hydrated. My only disappointment was the state of the coves with rubbish thrown up by the sea littering the beach tidal lines. A pity that the Park authorities don’t make an effort to keep it clean, not just for the visitors but for the protection of the unique and precious environment.

I just returned from Curacao and spent an afternoon in BOCA TABLA. The views of the ocean pounding against the rock in Boca Tabla are breath taking. The winds howl, the ocean sounds rock you and above all you feel like you are on top of the world. This preserve is gorgeous and for the most part tourist free. The only sounds you will hear will be your breath and the sounds of nature. If you want to hear silence-- this is the place for you.
The park ranger is also very friendly and helpful. Take the time to speak to her to learn more about local culture.

If you go there, go with the knowledge that its not safe! We were robbed in broad daylight, with teenage boys that threw a rock threw our rental car window and stole all of our belongings. Apparently this is common practice at the park.

Worth a visit but don't plan to spend a whole day here.
The hiking trail states it will take you 15 minutes to walk around the park & that is exactly correct.
The cave is amazing & the waves crashing against the rocks are majestic. Lots of small lizards/iguanas roaming around.
Make sure you wear sturdy shoes.

Boca Tabla in the Shete Boca National Park area in the northwest of Curacao is a great natural attraction, probably the best we visited during our week-long stay.
The four different inlets all offered great views, unique sights and a nice brush with nature. It was also fun to watch all the wildlife scurry, especially the occassional large iguana that were around Shete Boca. My girlfriend especially got a kick out of the Boca Pistol, the easternmost inlet of Shete Boca's four, and its spraying water hole.
Also inexpensive, I think its worth the trip - better than the likes of Christoffel National Park or Hato Caves, both of which we did.

Boca Tabla is located within the isolated Shete Boca National Park. There is a small admission fee to get into the park that will provide you with a map of the area. You can drive to small parking lot areas nearby the sites and walk up or hike the entire length of the park. It is amazing to see the hard waves crashing into the rock formations causing the flatter tablelike areas and then watch it run off the tables like waterfalls. One area features a natural forming bridge, another a small blow hole (Boca Pistol), and another area you can actually enter a small cave and listen to the waves come roaring in. It's a beautiful place and rarely crowded.

There is a small entrance fee but it is beyond worth it. The views of the breakers and cliffs and also the cave are just amazing. Wear comfortable shoes and a hat -- the hikes are not hard, but the path is rocky and in direct sunlight. Some of the most beautiful views on the island!

We visited Boca Tabla inside Shete Boca National Park while traveling in a rental car to the northwest end of the island. We very much enjoyed our stop here, even though it was brief. The area is all limestone underfoot and sea life fossils can be seen with every step. We saw a "cave" (more like a passageway carved by the water) and listened to the wondrous roaring of the water. We walked down to the ocean on the marked pathway and stood on a low cliff, watching the waves crash into the cliffs and blow water 30 feet high and more. It was quite beautiful, and the walk was very short. This is definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. A special highlight for us was finding 2 large, brilliantly colored iguanas in the parking lot and several smaller lizards darting about. There is also a giant fiberglass iguana you can get your picture taken with! Entrance to the park is about $3/car and well worth it.
