Probably nice if you're an American tourist...
Sep 2020
This must the ideal shopping centre if you're an American cruise tourist. Hower, there are none so the place is desolated. The shops here you can find everywhere in most high streets in the world, I recon. View from the Rif Fort is nice. Toilets are clean (if you need a loo break or a nappy change, I'd suggest you do it here) and parking is free. Which is very convienent if you visit Willemstad and don't mind the walk over the Pontjes Bridge into town.

History and shopping

Easy walk from the cruise terminal. A lot of high end shops, however if you are there on a Sunday many of the shops are closed. The fort is interesting with great city views from the top of the walls.

Worth the visit
Jan 2020 • Couples
They did a great job of preserving the old port and filling it with restaurants and boutiques! Gets flooded with tourists when the Royal Caribben ship docks right beside it.

Clean, great view of the harbor from fort wall
Mar 2020 • Couples
Remember if you are visiting on a Sunday a lot of places close early or are closed all day. The restrooms were clean and easy to access. Nice fountain and benches to rest on.

Shopping and History side-by-side
Feb 2020
Established in 1828, this former fort is a waterfront mall with high-end shopping, a courtyard & cafe's, bars & eateries, all in the shadow of the old fort. Climb the stairs up to the top of the wall for spectacular views. The stairs are steep and uneven, without hand rails so not recommended for anyone with mobility issues and hang on to your children. Cruise ships dock close by. No WiFi that we could find.

Beautiful to walk around
Feb 2020 • Solo
Riffort village is close to Renaissance hotel. Its literally a 2 minute walk. Riffort is as the name suggests a fort. You can climb the walls and get an amazing view of the harbor. There are lots of souvenir shops and restaurants inside the fort. On Monday evenings there is a club setting going on. The aphere is really nice especially in the evening with all the lights. There is also a great bar where you can just sit and enjoy. Sometimes there is also live music. In the middle of the fort there is also an iconic Chichi statue.

City base for evening walk in Willemstad
Feb 2020 • Couples
Whether you come by taxi or your own rental car, this is a good place to start your evening exploration of Willemstad. You can park for free inside the Renaissance Hotel & Mall parking. You cam grab a Starbucks nearby or walk out directly toward Riffort Village. There are a variety of good restaurants both inside the walls of this old fort, but also on top of the walls, directly facing the ocean. Try to get here around 19:30 for dinner. Some places make great cocktails. From here is a nice walk towards the famous floating bridge. Bring your camera for city-shorefront pictures and for on the pontoon bridge. Romantic location. Mostly for adults, but kids won’t feel out of place either.

The Rift is a perfect place to hang out, have a beer, watch a soccer game with the locals or just walk around. The Cruise ship bring tons of traffic and ambiance. There is some live music on the weekends and its full of restaurants to choose from. great to go with kids and family too!

Great for a stroll
Jan 2020
Lovely area near to the cruise ship docks which made it quite crowded. There were multiple shops and a few nice shady areas to sit. Plenty of bars restaurants and all types of shops including a shop selling Dutch delft ware. We had some ice cream which was quite expensive but good. Saw a huge iguana sunning itself there.
