While most travelers and cruise ship passengers cross the floating bridge to walk around Punda, with it's (expensive) shops and boutiques, I recommend a stroll thru Otrobanda (the other side). The vibe is real Curacao, vibrant, friendly and different. This is where the locals shop, and hang out. Lots of stores and boutiques, small hotels and bars. It is where... More

I was born and grew up there. Several decades ago, made a movie about the sad state it was in. Now, many buildings have been restored but don't honor the spirit of Otrabanda, I deplore to say. There are many locations where tourists wouldn't dare to go, and they are quite right. It's downright dangerous. You have a camera or... More

Lovely buildings, Rif Fort and LOTS of shops in the wee streets if you fancy shopping. We just went for a drink here and visited RIF fort as the shops are all much of a muchness really. But if it's something you are looking for.....happy shopping.

If you're visiting Curaçao, I'm sure you'll hear about checking out Downtown and that'll bring you right to either Punda or Otrobanda both being connected by the "floating bridge" aka Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge. Otrobanda is like the old town while Punda is like the new town. Both are great to visit. Otrobanda does seem to have more local attractions.

Loved this area. Great shops and restaurants in and around Rif Fort. Local vendors set up along the waterfront. Cruise boats pull in here and many passengers spend the day shopping and eating at the local establishments. From here it's an easy walk over the pontoon bridge to Punda. Visited Basilica of Santa Ana for Mass and it was beautiful.

Great non-touristy shopping area. We brought home some great clothing dealsfrom Otrobanda. Will definitely visit again, on our next trip to Curacao

Tourist and locals alike. Little shops tucked away and tourist spots. Good for a few hours but not a day - I don't think - without visiting some of the museums and such in the area.

Other side of waterway from Punta. Local feels, neat little shops with good prices. Weird to see run down buildings next to businesses, but like that all over Curacao.
