This was a beautiful beach however watch your kids closely. There are a lot of drop off points close to the shore. The waters can become very deep really quickly.

The whole Jan theil beach area is beautiful- first class hotels, beautiful beaches with soft sand, restaurants. Then drive around this area and see the gorgeous, huge homes which have incredible views of the bays or ocean.

Stayvaway from this beach. Beds/chairs ar so close to each other that it feels like beibg a sardine in a can! Prices are high. There are several better beaches with facilities on the island.

Water was warm but visibility poor, improved as we went to the far right outside the bay. Saw some squid and a small eel. A few parrot fish, one angel, one trumpet. So far, hugely disappointed in the snorkeling in Curacao. Stick to the BVIs!...More

We stayed here but we saw its normal to just visit for the day too. Sea/pool, great beach bars. Just one jet ski to rent, so if this is on your plan, better to go to the guys nearby, opposite the Pier restaurant, a little...More

I guess if you're staying in a resort right next to it this beach might be worth it just for the convenience, but having sampled ~15 of curaçao's beaches— many of them very private with lots of beach and clear blue water— paying for 5'sq...More

Jan Thiel was a fun place to take our kids - there was a variety of chair options in the sun and shade. There was nice sand for playing although not a large place. The water was calm enough for the kids to swim and...More

Felt like an overpriced tourist trap with subpar food. So many other options for beaches in Curacao I would rec. over this.

Jan Thiel beach is 13 km from the cruis ship terminal. This will take you 25-45 minutes depending on traffic.

Yes you will need a day pass, not expensive at all. I from a place (BRAZIL) where beaches are free of charge and I delighted paid for it. Not that far, but I advice to rent a car once buses will not reach it. Renting a car... More
