Visited this calming historic site while on vacation back home, it was simply epic. Scenery is relaxing, beautiful and calming. The upgrade is a must see. The short hike was big fun, we took picks along the way, bonding as a family happened instantly, when we got to the top the view was WOW! Other families were there also basking... More

There is an amazing view from Cabrits up on Fort Shirley. There is a lot of history up there but the views are fantastic, deep blue unending ocean. The place is clean and well kept. Great location for a wedding, picnic or just an evening stroll for families and couples. Check it out

Our ship docked at the foot of the short hill which leads up to the fort. Sensible walking shoes recommended. A brief and easy 10 minute climb took us to fantastic views across the bay, and a real sense of stepping back in time. There are some short walks around the fort, and blossom-laden trees buzzing with blizzards of humming... More

Spent 3 days here running a workshop on marine protection. Wonderful location. Great space, lovely views, quiet and calm. We held or big celebration night here - perfect! Only challenge is limited phone signal. Highly recommend!! And if not have an event, still visit. Great views of beautiful Dominica!

Fort Shirley is being very well restored and gives a wonderful view of Prince Rupert Bay. There is a small well done history museum of the area, cafe and a dive center. You can purchase day or week passes at the cafe. The trails are very well maintained. We did the West and East hikes including the walk to the... More

There are several trails in the Park to hike. The Fort has been renovated the view are fantastic. I was a bit disappointed that new materials were used for the renovations, Plastic gutters and electrical conduit are not appropriate. Hardware was of modern type, should have be made on the island by local artisans. But al by al it was... More

Have been here for a few events. The old fort is good place for dinner parties, banquets and such. It provides a good view fo the harbor in the evening and night. The older quarter and nice for smaller events. It can get hot, but there is often a nice breeze. As long as it does not rain, ladies you... More

This place is truly amazing. This was a site,( Fort Shirley) of 50 structures for the military back in the 1700's. there is a site to see cannons, mortars, and all kinds of cannonballs in the ordinance room, and the hikes to the ruins, were amazing. Along the hike to the ruins, you will see crabs, snakes, hermit crabs, all... More

Went here to hike early morning. The Museum wasn't open and nobody seemed to be in any hurry to open it. The lady who opens up came to work then proceeded to eat her breakfast or whatever it was before opening up. The views are beautiful but the things in the museum either didn`t work or weren't turned on.I could... More
