Don’t wear too many layers of clothing and wear comfortable shoes. Our guide Nicholas was very knowledgeable and patient, told us a lot of history about the four lakes and was our very own photographer. It’s something to experience here in Santo Domingo
Like others reviewers I skipped getting a guide - just be sure to keep 25 pesos per person for the short boat ride, it’s worth it.

This is one of the coolest cave systems I’ve ever seen. Pretty easy to walk around, but lots of steps, so if you have trouble with stairs, steer clear. But once you make it down...wow.
