Overlooking the harbor and offering views of the Atlantic stands Fort San Felipe. With a history of pirates and corsairs, this small fort dating back to 1577, holds some artifacts from the 18th and 19th century. Outfitted with a video headset, we were off on...More

Located in a very nice park at the harbor entrance! Once again the rock work is impressive. No wonder the Spanish list so little of the New World riches. Small entrance fee includes audio tour in your own in your native language. Nice beach park...More

Part of the city tour is San Felipe. When we did the tour in 2009 it was mostly in Spanish and very poorly organized. This time around and years later, they have headphones with translations and information which is great. Nice views, do jump shots,...More

My family and I only took pictures in front of the fort. You have a nice view of the ocean and it's right next to the amphitheater. The only thing I didn't like is all the independent salespeople that approach you as soon as you...More

With visiting the Fort during our tour of the city, it was interesting to put on the headphones and listen to the history of the Fort. It was interesting to see all of the display cases with things from the past within the Fort and...More

I've been to many forts and this one is on the small side, but it is very unique and in a beautiful location on the water. The alcoves and stairways make it interesting as well as the history. This was a stop on our Carnival...More

For cruise ship travellers, it is a close enough stop over and can be covered in one hour or less. It has views of the mountains, and the sea. The audio tour with the history is helpful too, verify if headset actually works before start...More

We visited here with Isaira Tours. You were given a set of earphones to listen to the tour of the fort at your on pace.

We could not leave without showing tbis to my friends. Just nicer than before. We loved the green grass. The theater is great.

Our family is not really into history and this fort seemed very small compared to some of the other forts. We were on a time crunch so we skipped the tour. It was still nice to see and take pictures on the site, along the...More

There is a small fee (a few dollars). Some parking...kids might like it. Doesn't take long to see it (half hour to an hour, tops). Avoid hottest part of the day if possible. Bring water.
