Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A nice area in the making, is one of very few public area that you can go to the beach and set in any of the restaurants in La Romana, Santo Domingo.

Poorly maintained beach. Dirty, and a lot of ownerless dogs. Water is full of rocks and glasses. Watch out your steps.

A nice spot at La Romana province, it has a small strip of beach just in front of Catalina Island, crystal clear water and a lot of tiny restaurants to have a good fried fish, i recommend Maggie's Restaurant, very good service and nice food. the bad part is there is a lack of parking spots and a lot of informal commerce is going on, they approach your table while you are eating to offer necklaces and souvenirs, kind of annoying if you want just to relax and have a good meal.

During my visit to Altos De Chavon to go watch perform and listen to Gato Barbieri, I stayed an additional day or Sunday and enjoyed horse back riding, swimming at the Playa Caleta, dancing at one of the clubs in La Romana and enjoying the local cuisine. I was there 8/80 to 6/84 not 9/2017 which what the computer allows me

This is a public beach where locals go. We didn’t get bothered by people trying to sell you stuff. There’s a couple of rock formations you can jump off into the ocean. Water is clear blue. Locals send out and pull up boats from this location.

If you want to know how the locals have fun on the beach, go to Caleta. The people are friendly and the food provided by the local vendors is better than most restaurants in the resorts. It is not the cleanest beach but what you will gain a great and authentic experience.

Playa caleta is lined with tables connected to beachside restaurants that specialize in mostly fish.
