Water was pretty but no water sports unless you want to surf. But the merchants just ruined it for me!! I mean don't get me wrong I like seeing all the local made stuff and would be happy to buy something if it catches my eye but the second we stepped foot out of the vehicle we were surrounded by... It's ok, not bad beach but definetly nothing special. If you r staying for a day it's little problem to have proper meal. I don't know why everyboady in the hotel was saying that it's the best beach in punta cana. Not bad but we've been to much nicer ones

We stopped at Macao Beach during our Jungle Rally tour. Beautiful beach! The locals that were there selling merchandise were very nice and respectful.

Nice beach but not white sand and also congested with lots of tourists. I think the place is suited for a relaxing trip and safety. We only spent about 15 minutes there to check it out during our boogie adventure.

Macao Beach was just OK, not the nicest beach in DR. It had a very strong rip tide, huge waves and yellow sand, not the beautiful white sand like many of the beaches in Punta Cana. I would say it is good for surfing or buggy boarding, but not for a relaxing day at the beach.

I love the beach. The people are very happy. Top accommodations for every budget, means and busy schedule is not an excuse to not visit this location. You can stay in style and not loose originality.

The view is amazing here, and while you can't actually swim in most areas, it's just beautiful! The waves are tremendous and the sound of the surf is pounding. Because it's an authentic DR beach, and not maintained by a hotel, you will see trash that has come up on the beach. Another negative: the relentless hawking by the beach... More

My family comes from Anguilla in the Caribbean so maybe I'm spoiled but this beach was a huge let down for me. The water was brownish, the sand was not very clean or bright, there was no where to use a restroom, it was packed and overall I just didn't like it. That's just me, but you can find out... More
