Well worth the hike for some of the most spectacular views. I'm not one who generally enjoys heights, however, I did it and have no regrets. The path and stairs to the top make for a comfortable hike. There were many visitors of all ages who made the trek. We went mid morning the weather was perfect. It took us... More

About a 20 minute drive from St. Francois, we found our way to Pointe des Chateux in our rental car and it more than lived up to expectations. We went on a weekday and had no trouble finding a parking spot. From the parking lot there are some short walks to some amazing views ... we opted to walk along... More

If you want to have a nice view head for the Cross, a little walk to the top to overlook the different bays, beaches and islands around. It's worthwhile. Still very wild nature, you can collect beautiful things on the beach. Watch out, swimming is not recommended.

Located at the eastern end of La Grande Terre on the butterfly island of Guadeloupe offering beautiful picture taking opportunities and interest beach fossils. While there is a nice breeze the area is basically treeless and a bit hot, but is worth the stop. After here one needs to travel the roads through La Grande Terre, through Le Gosier, Sainte... More

A must-see while in Guadeloupe! In the tip of saint francois you find this gem, Pointe des Chateaux! Visit during different times of the year to explore different vibes and waves! Nice little walk up to the cross for a nice view :) The waves are the main attraction here, majestic!

Worth a special trip but there is little shade and it gets very hot. Spectacular when there is a bit of a sea and there are stalls selling wonderful homemade coconut sorbet.

Absolutely stunning place, beautiful views out to sea! You really get to see nature in action here, we took a picnic here and just sat and enjoyed the atmosphere, just keep driving along that long road and you will get there eventually!

you go to Pointe des Chateaux to see the sunrise by 5.15am . Wonderful to see that ball of fire coming out of the sea and make you believe it's so close to you. Wear sunglasses... and then go up to the cross kind of Corcovado in Brasil, nice hike...And then get down to the white sand, to the beach... More

Amazing view of the ocean ! The sight takes you hundred years ago with the colonial boats were arriving from Europe.

The walk from the busy car park was not too strenuous however the walk across the sands took us by surprise. The crashing huge waves are deceiving and very easily knock you off your feet (wet shorts for my son all evening...glum face!) The view from the crucifix at the the top is an excellent panorama of Grande Terre, Base... More
