Pointe-a-Pitre is the capital with bars, restaurants, shops and things to do. If you are here for the beauty you need to take a short walk to 'Pointe des Chateaux'. The view of the Ocean with the cliffs is a picture. Today there are tourists looking at the view, but also a few locals, granted they are going swimming or... More

swim if you like, but the sight itself is amazing. only a handful of people were swimming- the rest were doing what we were doing, which was walk around (carefully!) admire the view and take pictures. you'll be up on high grounds (right off the parking area) and you get an awesome view of the rocks and crashing waves. we... The hike to the cross is easy, short (about 10 min in flip flops) and well worth it. The views from up there are just beautiful. On the way back, we stopped to the little "paillotte" to get some delicious accras and later on got some delicious coconut sorbets from one of the nearby vendors. The sea was a bit... More

It was a short trip for us since we were staying near Saint Francois. We tore ourselves away from our wonderful beach and made the trek to Pointe des Chateaux and it was well worth the trip. Unlike our calm beach behind the reef, the ocean is rough here. The views are spectacular. You have the sense that you are... More

Great place to watch huge waves crashing against the rocks! The walk up to the cross isn't hard- I did it without issue in leather flip flops (although the area up at the top is a bit slick from wear). After the climb, we headed over to the beach (not the small beach with the big waves, but the beach... More

The place was lovely, you can enjoy the amazing view without having to walk much. There is a possibility to go hiking. The sea is rough there so it is not a place to go swimming, it is really to admire the view. Of course near where you park there are people to sell you tourist stuffs.

The most beautiful waves crashing upon the rocks. One with a cross on top. I hardly noticed the vendors as they are not in photographic way. Personally, I'm glad there are no toilets & such. This is a meditative place not meant for moneymaking. Simply enjoy the views !

A must see, but very busy and perhaps better in the morning. There are vendors for snacks and beverages.

Nice merchants at the end of the highway. No toilets. Great walks on the Sentier Littoral. Several good restaurants about a mile back down the road.
