About
Once a plantation for indigo and spice, Somerset Falls is a hidden gem in Port Antonio with waterfalls, rivers, a man-made swimming pool, and even a slide. The boat ride—included in the admission fee—will take you to the main waterfall and through to a breathtaking gorge where you can marvel at the 32-foot Hidden Falls. The best time to visit is during the rainy season from June to November when the falls are the most impressive. To see more of the area, consider booking a private tour that also includes Frenchman Cove and the Blue Lagoon. – Tripadvisor

We had gone after the river filled up again so the water was fresh, crystal clear, cool and crisp, and worth every dollar of the entrance fee. It’s a short boat ride to the falls but the real treat is being in the water and looking up and around at the nature around you. Being present in the cool river water and lush greenery is the show that nature provides and you have to just give in and enjoy. There is a rock you can jump off of, but if you don’t jump, be sure to get in to water somehow. It’s an amazing experience that should not be missed.

Loved this little piece of paradise! We fit 15 people on the boat and was able to go behind the fall (drought in this area, so less water) and jump from the rocks and swim underneath. It was so much fun!

We looked online and entry fee said $1500JA, however when we got there that rate was for locals and we were charged $25US per person. There was no where which stated this price online or when you got to the park.
Half of my family went on the dry boat ride which didn’t last anymore than 3 minutes. A boat ride round the corner to see the falls and back again. I went on the wet boat ride which you got to jump into the water and swim, which was slightly better, but again didn’t last much longer. I thought you might be able to swim in the water however there wasn’t any life guards on duty.
There’s a pool and water slide, however the pool water didn’t look clean. Facilities are very dated, and the animals they do have are kept in very small cages. There’s no sun loungers to relax around the pool, only hard benches. We lasted at the park for around 1.5 hours which was a stretch!
It was completely over priced and not worth the money at all. I will not be returning.

This was unexpectedly fun and well worth the price of admission. There’s a water park-style slide and look (closed while we were there), before you reach a little fall, and then a short boat ride to the main falls. At the main fall, I definitely recommend the “wet” tour, which involves the boat going right up to the falls, where you can jump in. Climb up the rocks and feel the power of the water crashing down on your back, then jump off the rocks into the water…it’s a lot of fun!

Note: the $10 per person entrance fee includes a ‘guide’ and the little boat ride to the main falls. We weren’t sure if it was one of those ‘walking with me’ tour upsells we’ve been getting all over the island. We ended up having a nice chat with our guide.

Had a lot of fun. Was a very relaxing experience. The falls was a bit heavy and the water was very cold at first, but after a while we got used to it.

Somerset Falls is located in the parish of Portland in the town of Hope Bay. The Falls is a lush tropical paradise, we went there in October and we had the place all to ourselves, it was a dream! The cost to enter was $1500 JMD but they accept ($10 USD/per person on a Monday morning). The moment we entered the property we felt as if we were transported to nature's best-kept secret. Our guide took my husband and me on the boat, and we made our way to gushing Falls, oh what a beauty! Spoiler alert, the best part is the end of the boat ride. We climbed onto the rocks and let the water beat our bodies and we went for a jump under the falls into the deep section of the water! No worries if you can't swim, they do have swim/life-vests. We have not seen all the falls in Jamaica but this is our favorite attraction so far. We cannot wait to return.

We arrived and paid $1000 jmd for a group. We we parked and changed into our swim suits in the bathroom on the property.

The grounds were clean and well kept. We saw the pool being cleaned. We walked through a very beautiful picturesque walk and waited for the boatman.

The boat was cleaned and our life jacket sanitized. We were helped into our small boat and slowly guided into the falls. It ride was VERY beautiful.

The boatman allowed us to come off the boat and sit under/in the falls. The experience was lovely. We took several pictures. After we were brought back to the shore. The boat ride was short but lovely. We tipped the boat driver $10US for our group of 6.

We purchase food from a local off site resturant and ate on somerset fall area by the pool. We went in the pool and played on their grassed area. Lovely day for a group.

Gorgeous lush tropical gardens with a pool, slide, rivers, numerous falls. Slide was closed due to Covid but the falls and boat ride made it so worth it, we didn’t even miss the slide at the pool. Boat takes you down a river into a cave to gorgeous falls where you can climb up through and jump off. Posting pics which do more Justice than my words.

That boat ride to the main waterfalls, was exceptional. We couldn't capture the true essence without the recording. The waterfalls really worked out my back. I would definitely return.
