Many boutiques to select among. uniques pieces along with normal souvenirs. Many of the storefronts are being re-occupied and painted in historically bright attractive colors. worth a couple of hours of easy walking

A great place to shop and grab a bite to eat, even if not into shopping it's still a place to see just for the atmosphere.

Fortaleza Street offers fantastic local food and drinks, as well some good shopping (outlet and local stores). An impossible street to miss, Fortaleza Street draws you closer from near any direction within Old San Juan.

There are 1000 options on this street so your experience will really turn on which ones you choose. We recommend going to the near the end and visiting "Ole" the shop where they sell Panama Hats and size and decorate them for you. Great stuff.

This area is great for shopping. There are a great variety of shops for the souvenir hunter. There are also many interesting restaurants as well with a chance to test the local cuisine. The area also reminds me of the streets in Havana.

Not only Fortaleza, but all the little cobblestoned streets parallel to it are great to walk and explore. The old Spanish architecture is amazing and you may stumble upon a great Cathedral or The Governors mansion along the way. Enjoy, you can't get too lost.

Great boutique hotels, colorful buildings and people. Very clean and the street life can be entertaining with markets and street musicians. Close to cafes, the fort, centrally located and easy to find your way around.

It is the street where the governor works and lives, it is guarded by several officials, all the streets are of stone and it is definitely a good spot for pics.

If I'm not too late, I found the best deal for the money with great food and service was Tijuana's, at Calle Marina which is in Old San Juan along the water.

I concur. Either take the free trolley into and around old san Juan or park near the Sheraton.
