Amazing history in this place. Great family adventure while learning at the same time. Spectacular views minimal climbing I would call low to moderate for walking the fort. Something you should absolutely see while visiting Old San Juan!

Close to Condado, you can walk here in 20 minutes, or take a taxi for $14. Work the effort. Views are spectacular, and the Fort is amazing.

Great day walking around. Streets were beautiful and people were friendly and fun. It was beautiful but does not need a whole day planned around it

If you like history and are in San Juan definitely go visit the old forts. Recently updated, they managed to keep the history while making it easy to visit. The buildings are incredible and show you a different view of the island.

I would recommend the stroll, as others have, if you depart from the San Juan Bay dock. Nevertheless, take a Uber when in heavy rain or extreme heat.

This is a US National Park so their rules apply. Here's the link to that site: .nps.gov/aboutus/news/commercial-film-and-photo-permits.htm. Based on my reading of this, you'll be fine.
