Beautiful town square with trees to provide shade perfect for sitting and relaxing on the benches. I even saw people playing dominoes. Coffee shop right on the corner and it's only a few steps away from the Mayors office or the Catholic Cathedral. Mayaguez theater one block away. Nice water fountain in the middle of the square topped by a... More

Typical plaza with the cathedral on one end and town hall on the other. In the center is a monument to Colon. Great site to take a stroll in the evening, or just relax

Nice little cafe in the plaza, with outside tables. Good daytime atmosphere but dangerous at night. Lots of locals hanging out there, mostly older men playing dominoes. Unfortunately, lots of sketchy people around there as well. Not a child-friendly place.

Plaza is beautiful, it even has a cafe nearby, and, like every typical Latin plaza, is in the middle of everything. But... there's a lot of homeless people and drug-addicts that harass you for money, and come out of nowhere. It's sad, because this wasn't like that more than a decade ago. I hope the government or someone do something... More

Christmas spirit is best enjoyed at Plaza Colón in Mayaguez were different family activities are available to all public. This year they added a skating rink as main attraction as well as christmas lights and carols sorround the area. Relax and view the Mayaguez slowpaced Culture watching the old play dominos. Drink a Coffee at Friend's Café. Visit the Mayaguez... More

This is a traditional small Spanish style plaza. During the Christmas season it is nicely adorned with lights. The city hall sets up an elaborate nativity set and light decorations. The best part is visiting the cathedral. It offers two masses daily and several on Sunday. There are many side altars, most of them dedicated to different advocations to Our... More

The Plaza is pretty and well kept. It's a nice place to sit and enjoy a coffee or an ice cream from the nearby shops while people watching.

The plaza is a nice place to have a snack and beverage. After walking around it was nice to sit down and watch the crowds go by.

This is a very nice, peaceful plaza. The fountain with Christopher Columbus statue has multicolor lights. It seems that everyone was enjoying the friendly atmosphere.

The city of Mayaguez does a great job in maintaining Plaza Colon in the center of the city. The plaza has City Hall on one end and the Cathedral on the other. There is a nice cafe' on the end by City Hall that stays open late. There is ample seating through out the plaza and they host concerts there... More
