Balneario Monserrate, often referred to simply as Luquillo Beach, is a long cresent of fine sand, with plenty of mature palm trees for shade, and El Yunque National Forest in the background. Due to a fringing reef, there are no waves to speak of, so it's a perfect beach for young kids. The beach has some food kiosks, restrooms, changing rooms, showers, and lifeguards. There is a small fee to park in the gated parking area.

This beach was highly disappointing. The beach was the dirtiest I have ever seen. Trash on the beach and in the water. While we were there watched some 14-15 year olds kids drinking beer (underage) throw the bottles into the ocean while their parents watched....More

Luquillo beach is about 10 mins drive away from El Yinque National Park. It’s a must go if you are in the neighborhood. The main beach is beautiful but a bit busy. Walk to the right side and you will suddenly feel like in some...More

The beach at Playa Luquillo is truly beautiful! Immense beach stretches out through the whole crescent shaped coast. The location is in close proximity to the entrance to El Yunque and is afforded by many small shops and food opportunities. There are also jet-ski and...More

Our family had a nice time at Luquillo. The beach was clean, the water clear. There were plenty of people on a weekday, but not overcrowded. There are a couple of concession stands but the food is marginal at best. Chairs and umbrellas for rent...More

I visited Luquillo beach this April 2018. I loved it. It's a nice beach to walk, especially to the right. The best part is it being near the kiosks, which are a bunch of restaurants that serve great Puerto Rican food and drinks. The food...More

We stopped in Luquillo for the afternoon and loved it. The beaches are not crowded and the water, sand, and weather were perfect. We drove a bit away from the kisoskos and enjoyed a calm afternoon. Then we drove over and got some street foods...More

Although the parking area and beachside amenities are still closed, the beach is lovely. Parking available just outside the open gates and the bathrooms are open.

Luquillo is the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. White sands, crystal Blue clear water and, the weekday that I was there, nearly deserted. Beautiful, peaceful—a vacation haven. Also, the first place I had a “dirty coconut”-a coconut hollowed out to drink with a shot...More

A place where locals have gone for years, it had become a visitors place nowadays. The beach itself is a great attraction but you will have El Yunque, Hacienda Carabali (horse riding) great kioscos, apartment and house rental and almost everytging. ENJOY!
