In 9 days on Martinique I visited 6 beaches. They are all equally beautiful. Anse Mitan meets all the requirements - soft white sand, clam blue water, long spacious beach, plenty of sun. What makes one beach better than another is one thing - shade. There is not a lot of shade at Anse Mitan. If you are from North... More

We came into Martinique on a cruise ship, and we were considering several options for how we spent our day. Based on two hectic stops prior to Martinique, we decided to ferry here and relax on the beach for the visit. If that is what you are looking to do, Anse Mirna certainly fits the bill. We even had a... More

Lovely and tricky to find he first time. Go to the end of the road when in pointe du bout and hang a left to beach access. Pass a hotel on left at the end of paved road and go right at dead end. You'll see 3 inlets and take your pick of which I let to swim. Clear water... More

This is a large (Martinique standards), public beach. There is a pier where a ferry from Fort de France docks; it comes about every 30 minutes. There is a place to rent jet skis (which we used--they were great) and a channel marked with buoys for the jet skis to go out in to the open water. There are sailboats... More

This beach was not the greatest in the world but worked well for us. It sure beats wasting your day wandering around the port. The ferry ride takes 20 to 30 minutes and is enjoyable by itself. The journey to the beach there had one intermediate stop; the return journey was a straight shot. The beach is about a quarter... More

Despite all the warnings from the guide books, this beach was not overrun or a concrete nightmare. We took the ferry across from fort De france, it left on time, wasn't too crowded and cost a very reasonable 7€ for the round trip. The ferry lets you have a nice view of the bay, including the closed Fort. The beach... More

Based in les trois ilets, this is very touristy, however one of the best places to do some water activities ! for a good price too.

Take a ferry for $7 From Fort De France (2nd Stop). The ferries run very frequently (about every 1/2 hour). They said the sand was whit but it's not like great white sand that I have seen. There are lots of shops if you walk to the left (go down the beach from to the left when you walk off... More

We were informed that the best beach trip close to the cruise port was to take a ferry (7 euro return) to Anse Mitan. (This is described on the local tourist map as one of the prettiest bays in the world... I wonder if the designer of the map has ever left Martinique.) Anyway, the ferry runs every half-hour -... People speaking English :) great view to Fort De France and the bay. Beaches are nice water is crystal clear a lot to see for those who like to snorkel. Good place to stay with no car. Bars, restaurants, shops, excursions, etc in one place. Yes we like it. We have stayed in nice place upper hill with cool view.

Thank Carolina Z
